Cellos - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1042144 Composed by Johann Justus Friedrich Dotzauer. Arranged by Carl Hüllweck. Children,Classical,Instructional,Romantic Period. Educational Exercises. 112 pages. Artistic Score Engraving di Galvagno Michele #646942. Published by Artistic Score Engraving di Galvagno Michele (A0.1042144). The Twenty-four Exercises for Two Cellos, Op. 159, by Johann Justus Friedrich Dotzauer, continue and conclude the series dedicated to the neck positions. These, alongside the just published Twelve Original Pieces, Op. 58, cover the first four positions in all possible variations, using an incredible richness of forms, melody, harmony, and rhythm. After these thirty-six little gems, your students will be able to face much greater challenges with renewed strength and assertiveness. While Op. 58 focused mostly on Theme with Variations, Op. 159’s most used form is the rounded binary one, while no less than three full-fledged fugues enrich the practicing landscape. Due to the lack of the original manuscript, lost during Steiner & Bell’s acquisition of Augener & Co., this edition is based on two surviving editions, by Carl Hüllweck and Johannes Klingenberg, both published in the first decade of the XX century, about 40 years after Dotzauer’s passing. To provide you with the greatest flexibility and choice possibilities, this edition comes in several versions (only C available here, others available on Gumroad): - A: a score only one, based on Hüllweck; - B: two separate sets of parts, one per editor; - C: a score & parts bundle, based once more on Hüllweck; - D: finally, a Collector’s Edition, containing all this, plus a long chapter comparing all differences between Hüllweck’s and Klingenberg’s versions, and an interactive PDF where, at the press of a button, you will be able to switch to the other version of the current part! All PDFs have been optimised to be of the highest Press Quality and lightweight. I truly hope you are going to enjoy this beautiful music and that your cello playing will reach new heights thanks to it! Loeillet: Six Sonatas Op. 5 No. 2 Complete for Cello Duo

Baroque,Contest,Festival,Standards,Traditional,Wedding. Score. 59 pages. Jmsgu3 #221991. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.612797). John Baptist Loeillet, a Flemish Baroque composer, wrote six sonatas for flute and basso continuo in his Op. 5 No. 2. This work is widely considered to be some of his most significant compositions, and they are still performed today. The sonatas are divided into three movements each, with two slow movements and one faster one. The flute part is very demanding, as Loeillet often wrote in the high register, and the accompanying basso continuo part provides a solid foundation for the piece. The music has an emotional intensity that was characteristic of the Baroque era, and it features various ornamentations, like trills and mordents. The influence of Corelli can be heard in the contrapuntal textures, and the melodic lines are often based on the scales and modes of the period.Loeillet's Op. 5 No. 2 is a beautiful and captivating work, and its timelessness is a testament to its quality. It has been transcribed and adapted for other instruments, and it remains a popular choice for many classical musicians.Contents:Sonata No. 1 Duration: 9:45 Score: 8 pages 1. Vivace 2. Published by Artistic Score Engraving di Galvagno Michele (A0.1156756). The Russian Air with Twenty Variations for Cello Solo, accompanied by a Second Cello, Op. 32, by J. J. F. Dotzauer (1783—1860), was composed and published around 1815. It is one of the many set of variations written upon the theme “Їхав козак за Дунай†(“The Cossack rode beyond the Danubeâ€) during the second decade of the XIX century, others including those by Beethoven and Hummel. Despite the title, the theme is of Ukrainian origin but, at the time of its diffusion in Europe, under a German disguise, the region that is now Ukraine was part of the Russian Empire. The language of the text makes its origin unmistakable today. After a fascinating slow Introduction, the theme comes and is followed by twenty variations, most of which requiring great virtuosity. This is a concert piece, lasting anywhere between 14 and 24 minutes according to whether repeats will be played or not. An outstanding variety of techniques is employed, making this a true challenge for even the most gifted players. This edition is based on the oldest surviving source, the first edition by Friedrich Hofmeister. It corrects the most glaring mistakes, and adds notes where ambiguity arises. This edition is dedicated to Yuriy Leonovich. Twelve Original Pieces for two cellos, Op. 63

Educational Exercises. 66 pages. Artistic Score Engraving di Galvagno Michele #726403. Published by Artistic Score Engraving di Galvagno Michele (A0.1125668). The Twelve Original Pieces for Two Cellos, dedicated to beginners, Op. 63, by J. J. F. Dotzauer (1783—1860) is a most colourful collection, containing a spicy mix of arias from famous operas, original themes, and fugues. The arias are mostly from W. A. Mozart’s La Clemenza di Tito, and G. Rossini’s Tancredi, with a theme and variation from The Magic Flute crowning them all. Even without employing the thumb, these pieces are challenging, and should not be underestimated. They explore all seven positions, making this the most well-rounded collection of the five (Opp. 52, 58, 156, 159), and a must-have for all cello students. This edition comes in two versions, Original & Collectors’ Edition. The Original version is available in either of the following variants: score only, parts only, and score & parts. It is based on the first edition published by Dotzauer at Breitkopf & Härtel in 1823. The Collector’s Edition adds the new edition of these pieces appeared in the 57 Little Duets compiled by Johannes Klingenberg (1852—1905), and in the early XX century edition by Alwin Schöder (1855—1928). The Three Pieces, Op. 64, by bohemian cellist David Popper (1843-1913), for cello and piano, are among the most appreciated by young cellists, given their relative simplicity. They are made up of a song remembering the old days (No. 1), a tarantella (No. 2), and a lullaby (No. 3). Following the successful performance of my arrangement for two cellos realised for a student of mine in 2021 of No. 1, I have now resolved to sharing this with the world. Arranging piano parts for a single instrument is always going to be a compromise, but Popper’s use of the piano in short pieces is usually light enough to make the result convincing. I hope you will enjoy it as much as I enjoyed arranging and performing it. This edition is made up of a single document [10pp.] containing both the score and the two cello parts. The solo cello part contains fingering and bowing suggestions by the composer, while the second cello contains my own suggestions.
