Key Signature: F♯ MinorTime Signature: 3/4Tempo: Allegro non troppo (not too much, also mind the sustained/connected stacc. melody)Difficulty: Advanced (very)Felix Mikhailovich Blumenfeld (19 April 1863 [O.S. 7 April] – 21 January 1931) was a Russian composer, conductor, pianist, and teacher. He was born in Kovalevka, Kherson Governorate, Russian Empire (today - part of Kropyvnytskyi, Ukraine), the son of Mikhail Frantsevich Blumenfeld and the Polish Marie Szymanowska, and studied composition at the St. Petersburg Conservatory under Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov and piano under Fedor Stein between 1881 and 1885. He then taught piano there himself from 1885 until 1918, whilst also serving as conductor of the Mariinsky Theatre until 1911.This theatre saw the premieres of the operas composed by his teacher and mentor Rimsky-Korsakov, and he was also the conductor at the Russian premiere of Wagner's opera Tristan und Isolde. In 1908, he conducted the Paris premiere of Modest Mussorgsky's opera Boris Godunov. From 1918 to 1922, he was the director of the Music-drama school of Mykola Lysenko in Kiev, where, amongst others, Vladimir Horowitz was a pupil in his masterclasses. He returned to the Moscow Conservatory in 1922, teaching there until his death. Other famous pupils of his include Simon Barere, Maria Yudina and Maria Grinberg. He died in Moscow. As a pianist, he played many of the compositions of his Russian contemporaries. His compositions, which showed the influence of Frédéric Chopin and Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, include a symphony, pieces for solo piano, an Allegro de Concert for piano and orchestra, and lieder. His virtuoso pieces for piano in particular are enjoying something of a renaissance in recent years. He was the uncle of Heinrich Neuhaus and first cousin, once removed of Karol Szymanowski (Felix and Karol's father, Stanislaw Szymanowski, were cousins).(Wikipedia). Published by Dimitris Anousis Antonio Vivaldi - "Winter" from concerto no.4 in F minor, op.8, RV297, " L' inverno" - 1. Allegro non molto, for solo piano. This is the well known composition of Antonio Vivaldi in an amazing professional made arrangement by the accomplished pianist, composer and arranger Dimitris Anousis. Made from a pianist for pianists, written in a understandable way to be "pianistic" but to have the whole orchestral feeling while playing, not for the piece to sounds "poor". Ideal for all kinds of piano recitals, piano events and not only. Appropriate for advanced students. If you like you can contact Dimitris Anousis at http://www.dimitrisanousis.com

Music - Digital The "Easy Concert Pieces" series offers a wide spectrum of pieces from the Renaissance, Baroque, Classical, Romantic and Modern eras. The repertoire enriches the daily exercises and double bass tutor and is suited for all kinds of auditions. It contains original works for double bass solo as well as orchestral excerpts and arrangements of famous classical masterpieces.
Volume 1 (easy) contains pieces in half and first position, with easy rhythms and melodies. It includes easy strokes and articulations such as portato, staccato and legato. Some pieces contain easy Flageolets. This volume offers a broad selection of classical masterpieces in easy arrangements.
Volume 2 (easy to intermediate) contains pieces up to the 3rd position. As some new double bass tutors have a different approach in introducing position changes, volume 2 offers several pieces which reach the 2nd position, some pieces using only 1st and 3rd positions and some more difficult pieces which encompass all positions from half to third position. This volume consists of more original works.
Volume 3 (intermediate) increases the repertoire up to the 6th position and requires a good control of the lower positions. It makes higher demands on expressive playing and interpretation, velocity and rhythm, as well as bowing techniques with articulation and phrasing. Easy Concert Pieces

Downloadable. Op. 88/3. Schott Music - Digital #Q49375. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q49375). Key: A minor. German • English • French. These real masterpieces, even if only a few minutes long, are of tremendous melodiousness and expressiveness!, Franz Schubert said about Friedrich Kuhlau's sonatinas. The four Sonatinas Op. 88 were written in 1827, i. e. during Friedrich Kuhlau's middle creative period, even before the great success of the opera Elfenhügel, the year of Beethoven's death. All four works contain beautiful melodic ideas, but Sonatina Op. 88 No. 3 with its minor tonality, its free treatment of form and tempo in the first movement and the lively last movement is something special. Of medium difficulty, this sonatina is great fun to play. This edition is accompanied by a preface and Teaching Notes by Monika Twelsiek. It is part of the new Schott Student Edition series which offers varied literature at five different levels of difficulty, from 1 (easy) to 5 (difficult), for instrumental lessons. For further information on this series, see www.schott-student-edition.com [1]. Links: ------ [1] http://www.schott-student-edition.com. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.549058). Gabriel Fauré: Sicilienne Op. 78. Nice recital encore piece. It is very moody with a light touch of impressionism and poignant mode mixture. This piece will add a surprising element to your concert and demonstrate the depth of your musical sensitivity. Significant Aspects of Faure's Sicilienne Gabriel Fauré's Sicilienne, Op. 78 is significant due to its history, influence, and musical characteristics. Historical Significance The piece was initially composed in 1893 as part of incidental music for a theatrical production that was later abandoned. Fauré reused the Sicilienne in 1898 when he wrote incidental music for the English translation of Maeterlinck's play Pelléas et Mélisande. This piece was later extracted and formed into an orchestral suite for concerts, known as the Pelléas et Mélisande Suite, Op. 80. Influence and Popularity Fauré's harmonic richness and melodic innovations in the Sicilienne influenced other composers. The Sicilienne is the most famous piece from the Pelléas et Mélisande Suite and is frequently played by significant orchestras today. Musical Characteristics The piece is known for its conversational style for both cello and piano, and it exhibits chromatic movement to evoke a Renaissance aesthetic with the Sicilienne dance. It is also more complex than the typical song in terms of chords and melody, with above-average scores in chord and melodic complexity. In conclusion, Faure's Sicilienne is significant due to its historical background, influence on other composers, and unique musical characteristics. Dance and Fabric The term Sicilienne is derived from the French word Sicilienne, which means Sicilian. It is associated with a dance called the Siciliana and a kind of rich poplin fabric. Musical Style Sicilienne refers to a musical style or genre often included as a movement within more significant pieces of music, starting in the Baroque period. It is associated with a pastoral mood and is often characterized by dotted rhythms that can distinguish it within the broader musical genre of the pastorale.
