Christian,Christmas,Holiday,Sacred,Traditional. Score and parts. 22 pages. John A. Dempsey #3684783. Published by John A. Dempsey (A0.523699). A medley of two Christmas carols, this triumphant, stirring trio for two guitars and piano is shaded with quiet, prayerful moments of reflection and brightened by joyful bursts of praise. Â Embellishments occur, together with mood and tempo changes that add to the dramatic impact of the arrangement. Â It's a sweeping musical journey that celebrates the miracle of Jesus' birth. Â Recommended for Christmas plays, pageants and programs, holiday recitals and Christmas concerts as well as traditional Christmas church services and other seasonal worship events, as a prelude, postlude, an offertory, interlude, Christmas play overture and special music. Â 18 pages of music (that includes separate two-page parts for guitar q and guitar 2). Â Key: E minor. Â Guitar Level: Intermediate. Â Piano Level: Late Intermediate. BRING A TORCH, JEANETTE, ISABELLA - 3 intermediate Guitars/Large EnsembleFor Classical or Acoustic Guitar - sometimes it's erroneously listed here as Electric Guitar.Derek Hasted writes This charming French carol is arranged here for 3 intermediate guitars (or a larger ensemble).Inspired by my arrangement in the collection “Christmas Crackers Volume 2†(a set of pieces for players with limited experience), this is written for players with more experience - the arrangement is much busier, the sound is fuller, and there’s a need to play music in more than one voice. There’s also a key change to add a sparkle of extra magic, but the tune (on Guitar 1) needs simply to move up two frets and use the same fingering. Fingering is included where it may not be obvious how best to play a section. There are three different textures in the three verses, so that there’s extra interest for players and audience alike.I hope you enjoy playing this piece! This is one of a large and growing range of accessible ensembles from experienced arranger Derek Hasted, and is supplied as full score and parts. Derek's website at www.derek-hasted.co.uk/smp lists all his arrangements by title and by number of instruments, with links to soundclips and sample score. Give me a boat that can carry two - and both shall row, my love and I. Â From a rich, vibrant Celtic tradition comes the classic The Water is Wide, loving crafted to evoke misty Scottish landscapes with rolling green hills (you can almost smell the heather). Â This unabashedly romantic trio for two guitars and piano is perfect for concerts, recitals, weddings, ceilidhs and other Celtic-themed music events. Â For wedding music, The Water is Wide stirs the heart as a prelude, unity candle music, a bridal march or a bridesmaid processional. Â Â Â Â Â Â This trio is also effective as a prelude, postlude, an offertory, interlude, silent prayer accompaniment and special music for traditional church services and worship events, since the melody has been used in multiple hymn settings including The Gift of Love, Though I May Speak with Bravest Fire and as an alternate melody for When I Survey the Wondrous Cross. Â 12 pages of music (that includes separate two-page pullout parts for guitar 1 and guitar 2). Â Key: G major. Mary Had A Baby - 6 guitars/large ensemble

MARY HAD A BABY - 6 GUITARS/LARGE ENSEMBLE For Classical or Acoustic Guitar - sometimes it's erroneously listed here as Electric Guitar.Derek Hasted writes This American 19th Century Spiritual about the arrival of the Baby Jesus contains the words The people keep a-comin’ but the train done gone. It’s generally accepted that references to the train in afro-American Gospel Music often refer to The Gospel Train or The Way To A Better Life. But regardless of the actual interpretation for those words, this arrangement just wouldn’t be remotely authentic if it didn’t sound like a steam train. So hopefully, it does! This piece starts in the key of F, and the lower three parts generate a pulse which mimics the power-stroke of a steam locomotive. There’s a train whistle too - the top three parts sound an augmented chord - you might like to slide up into the chord, or fall down the neck after the chord is resolved. Or just play it as written...In the centre, the music rises a semitone then another semitone, picking up speed as it does so, playing the same music a tone higher. At the end of the piece, the music slows, and slows and slows to a standstill with a final bass G to tell the audience that the train has stopped...Before the train picks up speed, there is a gentle choral section, and the dynamic markings will show you where the tune moves about. The amount you choose to pick up speed is entirely your choice - the occasional strange number in the metronome mark is simply the result of my typesetting software performing a long, steady speed change.I hope you enjoy playing this piece! This is the seventeenth volume of an extensive collection of folk songs arranged for the classical guitar mostly in two-part counterpoint. The arrangements are of moderate difficulty and the aims of this publication are to familiarise, entertain and educate guitarists (and other musicians) with a melodic repertoire of lasting aesthetic value, under the light of contrapuntal treatment. The thirty five volumes of this collection can certainly be printed on paper if so desired and there are a few pages in each volume, either blank or with photographs of various musicians, which can be inserted at will in any place for the correct ordering of left and right hand pages so that page turns can be avoided. The principle of avoiding page turns has been maintained in all volumes, but this edition is also designed with mobile electronic devices in mind such as tablets etc, using the environment and facilities of a score reading application, towards a paperless world, at least in music. Therefore the size of the staves is bigger than usual for ease of reading on a small screen but not big enough to exceed the limit of a two-page view. Active internal links for navigating from thematic indexes to particular songs and back to indexes have been added, and also external internet links to sites that give further information for the 945 songs of this first collection for classical guitar.Folk Songs For Classical Guitar - Volume 17 (Songs 433-459)I Love My LoveI must live all aloneI saw a maidenI will Give my Love an AppleI will give you the keys of Heaven (Cheshire)I wish I was Single AgainI wish I wish 1 (My True Love Once He courted Me 1)I wish I wish 2 (My True Love Once He courted Me 2)I wish I wish 3 (My True Love Once He courted Me 3)I wish I wish 4 (My True Love Once He courted Me 4)I Wonder as I WanderI’ll Build Myself A Gallant ShipI’ll Mount the Air on Swallow’s Wings [The Loyal Lover]I’ll Tell You of a FellowI’m a Man that’s done wrong to my ParentsI’m A’ Doon For Lack of JohnnieI’se the B’y That Builds the BoatI’ve Set My Face For Zion’s KingdomIn a British Man O’ WarIn Bethlehem CityIn Good King Arthur’s Time (King Arthur’s Servants)In My Father’s GardenIn Nightly StillnessIron Horse (THE)Isle of DreamsIt’s of a farmer all in the town. The principle of avoiding page turns has been maintained in all  volumes, but this edition is also designed with mobile electronic devices in mind such as tablets etc, using the environment and facilities of a score reading application, towards a paperless world, at least in music. Therefore the size of the staves is bigger than usual for ease of reading on a small screen but not big enough to exceed the limit of a two-page view.Active internal links for navigating from thematic indexes to particular songs and back to indexes have been added, and also external internet links to sites that give further information for the 945 songs of this first collection for classical guitar.Volume 31 (Songs 811-837)St AthanStar of Belle Isle (the)Star of County Down 1 (the)Star of County Down 2 (the)Stately Southerner (the)Still Still, StillStranger in Cork (a)Streets of LaredoStrike the BellSussex Mummer’s CarolSwan Swims So Bonny (the)Swansea TownSweet Chiming Bells (While Shepherds Watched)Sweet KittySweet MarySweet Nightingale 1 (the)Sweet Nightingale 2 (the)Sweet Nightingale 3 (the)Sweet Nightingale 4 (the)Sweet Nightingale 5 (the)Sweet Nightingale 6 (the)Sweet Primeroses (the)Sweet WilliamSword Dance 1Sword Dance 2 (prologue to dance)SylviaTailor and the Carrion Crow (the).
