By Traditional (Scotland). By Traditional (text by Robert \'Rabbie\' Burns). Arranged by Dan Jones (danjonesguitarist.com). 153, Celtic, Classical, Irish, Traditional. Score and parts. 37 pages. DanJonesGuitarist #714866. Published by DanJonesGuitarist
This arrangement comes in the following format, all provided in this one download:*A score with notes and TAB*A score with notes only (to facilitate page turns at the request of teachers)*Parts in notes and TAB*Parts with notes onlyThe melody set here is traditionally used for a setting of the beautiful Robert \'Rabbie\' Burns poem \'Ye Banks and Braes\'. The actual melody is much older and its origin unknown. The arrangement here is intended for an ensemble of guitars of mixed levels of experience. The verses and chorus are set in both G major, A major and then G major again. Groups can shorten or lengthen a performance if desired, according to experience.Arrangement details are as follows:Guitar 1 - has the main melody and also plays in harmony with Guitar 2. Higher-position playing is required later in the arrangement, if the the full version is performed.Guitar 2 - often harmonises, and plays in canon with Guitar 1. There is some high-position playing required in the full version.Guitar 3 - is intended for beginners and is an optional part. It consists of dotted half notes (minims) throughout.Guitar 4 - has chords throughout. I have provided chord symbols for those familiar with this system. The harmonies given in the notes and TAB are designed to facilitate left-hand chord changes. Instructional. Score and parts. 129 pages. Dots and Beams #5313613. Published by Dots and Beams (A0.931837). This book provides its user with a series of notes on a treble staff with no rhythm values and no meter. Chapters are organized by the placement of the notes relative to the staff; on the staff, above the staff, below the staff, on and above the staff, and on and below the staff. For each pitch range there is one chapter with no accidentals and one chapter with accidentals. All exercises have a space at the beginning of each staff to write in a key signature, allowing each exercise to be read in all keys and used in many ways. The aim with this book is to allow the user to focus specifically on exercises centred around pitch without the distraction of rhythmic values or time signatures. This can begin with the practice of sight-reading but can expand to include many other learning goals. The diatonic sets contain notes with no accidentals or key signature. These collections can be read as written, using only natural notes, or in any of the 15 key signatures from 7 flats to 7 sharps. Chromatic collections include sharp and flat notes as well as natural ones. The later exercises in these chapters increase the difficulty by including B#, Cb, E#, and Fb. Ledger line chapters start with the first ledger line and gradually expand away from the staff. Exercises above the staff reach up to the space above the fifth ledger line while exercises below reach down to the space below the third. The random nature of the notes in these exercises is intentional; it forces the user to pay attention to each note and makes the exercises very difficult to memorize, ensuring that they will still present a challenge even after multiple readings. It’s important when sight-reading to cycle through the exercises quickly rather than dwelling on a single exercise for a long time. This will ensure that you’re strengthening your ability to read the notes rather than just memorizing the exercises. Some suggestions for how to use this book include: Gain comfort reading the notes and finding them on your instrument in no particular rhythm or tempo. A greater challenge can be achieved by playing them at a steady tempo or by playing them in a simple rhythmic pattern. Beginner students can begin by writing in the note names. Play each exercise in all 15 key signatures. Advanced theory students and improvising musicians can also use these exercises to practice identifying scale degrees in various keys or playing chords built on every scale degree in the chosen key. Develop comfort with chords by playing a chord built on each note in the exercise. For example: for each note in the exercise, play the major chord with that root. Increase the difficulty with different chord qualities or different chord tones, for example: for every note, play the minor 7th chord in which the given note is the 3rd. Practice transposing into different keys. This is an especially useful challenge for people who play transposing instruments such as brass and woodwind instruments. Chapters with wide ranges can present a great exercise for musicians who play instruments where large leaps are a challenge. People who play strings, mallet percussion, piano, woodwinds, and brass would be among those who would benefit from practising these awkward leaps and falls. As with any of the Dots and Beams books, the uses for this particular collection are limited only by the imagination of the musician using it. I highly encourage anybody using this book to find as many uses for it as possible. My hope is that as you grow as a musician you will find ever more creative and challenging ways to use these materials so that you can return to these books for years.

Guitar - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1486675 By Foo Fighters. By David Grohl. Arranged by Brian Streckfus. Contemporary,Pop,Rock. Chords/Lyrics. 2 pages. Brian Streckfus #1063740. Published by Brian Streckfus (A0.1486675). Key: B minorPages: 2The aim of this version was not historical accuracy. The aim was to create a great solo unplugged coffee-house version with no page turns, though it could still be really useful for any situation. The melody is left intact, some liberties with the harmonies were taken when there is singing. I'm very proud and happy with how it turned out, sometimes you get lucky and the sections fall perfectly into place (which is suprising since there are some odd 3 measure phrases in here). Features:1. Beginner friendly. The chords are so accurate to what the sheet music is doing, that you don't even really need to read sheet music to play this!2. Harmonies that take difficulty, style, voice leading, and melody into consideration3. Condensed lead sheet version that fits on 2 pages to avoid a page turn; yet it is packed with details and naunces.4. Beautifully engraved sections that visually make sense on the page.Tips:1. Measures 8-16 I named that chords as if both guitars were taken into consideration. I'm guilty of sometimes saying, Oh it's just a rock song with power chords, but then you look into the details, and the chords are actually quite jazzy.2. Maybe She sang needs a fermata?3. If a song is in B minor and never changes key, fret 1 will never happens! Be in position 2 for this song! That's why I didn't put fingerings in, they would have been as helpful as confusing.4. Maybe it's a given, but I recommend forcing melody notes on to the chord in one way or another. Sometimes I go on spurts of notating many complex chords to account for the melody, other times I just show one chord per measure but kind of assume that you'll make the guitar work more fancy with the melody notes. Maybe this is overthinking the arrangement, but there is great voicings I'm doing that I want to get across, but sometimes I won't do it because the score will get too busy looking. Just food for thought, depends on your agenda I suppose.

Instrumental Duet Hand Drum,Handpan,Instrumental Duet - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.569893 By Sharon Wilson. By Traditional. Arranged by Sharon Wilson. Children,Christian,Folk,Multicultural,Sacred,World. Score and parts. 11 pages. Sharon Wilson #6641757. Published by Sharon Wilson (A0.569893). Note: the audio sample uses the Grand Staff #2 score (melody played on a 6-inch, 8-note Tongue drum and chords played on a 12-inch, 13-note Drum); the YouTube video uses the Grand Staff #1 score with both parts played on the 12-inch drumHere is an easy song to play on a key of C Tongue Drum (8, 11, or 13-note drums). This sheet music is notated for an 8-note, C major diatonic scale Tongue Drum (sometimes called a Hand Drum or Steel Drum). Whether beginner or experienced musician, this set of scores can be used in numerous ways from solo playing to playing with a partner or as a group. A note and chord reference chart is included as well as a rhythm pattern chart. Descriptions, suggestions, and uses for each score and chart are detailed on the introduction page and summarized below:Grand Staff #1This score combines the melody staff with the chord staff. The top staff is the melody staff and shows the notes used to play the melody. Those new to reading standard music notation as well as those already familiar with music notation will find the numbers above the staff helpful. These numbers correspond to the numbers on the Tongue Drum. The bottom staff uses Rhythm #1 and consists of 2-note chords that harmonize with the melody. These simplified chords follow the beat making it easy to accompany yourself or someone else singing the melody. Lyrics between the staves are provided for sing along enjoymentGrand Staff #2This score is identical to Grand Staff #1 except it shows an alternate rhythm pattern on the bottom staff. This alternate accompaniment uses the same chords, but follows a variation of Rhythm #2. Melody ScoreThis score can be played as a solo or with accompaniment using the chord names. Chord names are shown above the staff and note numbers are shown below the lyrics. Chord names can be used when playing with other instruments such as a Ukulele or Guitar. Note and Chord ChartThis chart consists of two separate staff rows. The first staff shows the notes used for the melody. The second staff shows the notes in each chord used in this song. Any combination of the notes within a given chord can be played using one of the rhythm patterns. The chord names are shown above the staff. The corresponding Tongue Drum numbers are shown below the staff.Rhythm ChartThis chart shows four rhythm patterns that can be used as an accompaniment for the melody. Using the Melody Score, follow the chord names above the melody staff to play notes from the given chord using one of the rhythm patterns.Visit Sharon Wilson's website: www.SharonWilsonMusic.comSubscribe to her YouTube Channel: www.youtube.com/user/SharonWilsonMusic
