Composed by P. I. Tchaikovsky. Arranged by Darrell Goforth. Romantic Period, Repertoire, Christmas, Wedding. Score, Set of Parts. 27 pages. Published by Darrell Goforth
This is an arrangement of the famous Waltz from Tchaikovsky's "Sleeping Beauty Ballet". I have taken it from the original orchestral score using the original key. At 3 minutes and 28 seconds, it is a somewhat abbreviated version. I have left out some of the repetitions in the original ballet. Without dancers to watch, the piece can be a little tedious. This piece would be ideal in any situation where a little light music is required, possibly even Christmas or a wedding.

Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.866022 By Elton John. By Bernie Taupin and Elton John. Arranged by Kevin P. Holt. Pop,Rock. Score. 4 pages. Kevin P. Holtg #5359797. Published by Kevin P. Holtg (A0.866022). Have you ever been to a really nice restaurant and had the pleasure of listening to a pianist playing while you eat? Ever wished you could play in a similar way? This arrangement might be able to help. If you are around grade 5 – 6, give some of these individually arranged pieces by Kevin P. Holt a try and you could soon be entertaining your own dinner guests. This version took inspiration from Elton's 1997 version. I've tried to capture the essence of Elton's rhythmic playing and also written out the solo at the end of each chorus. The small note heads throughout indicate any place Elton is accompanying himself or just filling in.I'm pleased with the result and for anyone that has played my arrangements of Your Song and Tiny Dancer I think you will find this an equally nice addition to your library. Dynamic and phrasing are left to the performers discretion but have added a few to get you started. Have Fun.

Full Orchestra - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.730492 Composed by James Nathaniel Holland. Contemporary,Musical/Show. Score and parts. 484 pages. James Nathaniel Holland #4800547. Published by James Nathaniel Holland (A0.730492). Advisory: Ballet story contains adult situation and themes. Not suitable for audiences or performers under the age of 18. INDIVIDUAL INSTRUMENT PARTS 1 (Woodwinds and Brass). Piano Score, Full Orchestral Score, Individual Parts (Part 2) Sold Separately. American composer, James Nathaniel Holland, brings a ballet adapted from the first century Roman novel by Gaius Petronius (cir. 50 A.D.) to the stage. An entertaining ballet for adults (not suitable for general audiences under the age of 18), celebrating the male ballet dancer's physique and a laugh at our own human sexuality. The comedy is a romp of three gay protagonists and their adventures and misadventure in ancient Rome and their characters; an ex-gladiator, Enclopius, his young lover, Giton, and an upper class snob, Ascyltos. It should also be said that this ballet is not pure gratuitous vulgarity, there is a interweaving story containing a deeper message of real human relationships, the satire of ancient Roman archetypes, and a humorous glimpse into ancient Roman life that still rings true even 2,000 plus years later. Regardless of the subject matter, Holland's original music is fantastic tapestry of counterpoint, set in a sort of atonal-ism and heavy percussion, evoking a period of history no longer available to us. Although not all cues and counterpoint is contained here, this piano score is extremely useful for either a performance with 2 pianos and percussion and a dance company, a director's/choreographer's score, or a concise conductor's score, or rehearsal score. Measure numbers line up with the full score. An orchestral, performance CD is available for those company's on a budget.

Published by RayThompsonMusic (A0.1293743). Arranged wind dectet/bass (double wind quintet)A taster of the opening music for Erik Satie's Ballet Parade.Choral and Prelude of the red curtainOther scores to follow. Background info:Parade is a ballet choreographed by Leonide Massine, with music by Erik Satie and a one-act scenario by Jean Cocteau. The ballet was composed in 1916–17 for Sergei Diaghilev's Ballets Russes. The ballet premiered on Friday, May 18, 1917, at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris, with costumes and sets designed by Pablo Picasso, choreography by Léonide Massine (who danced), and the orchestra conducted by Ernest Ansermet. The ballet was remarkable for several reasons. It was the first collaboration between Satie and Picasso, and also the first time either of them had worked on a ballet, thus making it the first time either collaborated with Diaghilev and the Ballets Russes. The plot of Parade incorporated and was inspired by popular entertainments of the period, such as Parisian music-halls and American silent-films.Much of the settings used in Parade's plot occurred outside of the formal Parisian theater, depicting the streets of Paris. The plot reproduces various elements of everyday life such as the music hall and fairground. Before Parade, the use of popular entertainment materials was considered unsuitable for the elite world of the ballet. The plot of Parade composed by Cocteau includes the failed attempt of a troupe of performers to attract audience members to view their show. Some of Picasso's Cubist costumes were in solid cardboard, allowing the dancers only a minimum of movement. The score contained several noise-making instruments (typewriter, foghorn, an assortment of milk bottles, pistol, and so on), which had been added by Cocteau (somewhat to the dismay of Satie). It is supposedthat such additions by Cocteau showed his eagerness to create a succès de scandale, comparable to that of Igor Stravinsky's Le Sacre du Printemps which had been premiered by the Ballets Russes some years before, and caused no less scandal.Although Parade was quite revolutionary, bringing common street entertainments to the elite, being scorned by audiences and being praised by critics, nonetheless many years later Stravinsky could still pride himself in never having been topped in the matter of succès de scandale. The ragtime contained in Parade would later be adapted for piano solo and attained considerable success as a separate piano piece. The finale is a rapid ragtime dance in which the whole cast [makes] a last desperate attempt to lure the audience in to see their showThe premiere of the ballet resulted in a number of scandals. One faction of the audience booed, hissed, and was very unruly, nearly causing a riot before they were drowned out by enthusiastic applause. Many of their objections were focused on Picasso's cubist design, which was met with cries of sale boche.

Full Orchestra - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1086971 Composed by Claude Debussy/Robert Orledge. Classical,Contemporary,Opera. Score and parts. 32 pages. Musik Fabrik Music Publishing #691161. Published by Musik Fabrik Music Publishing (A0.1086971). Scored for baritone (or counter-tenor) soloist, mixed chorus and orchestra (2222/2200/timp/2perc/hp/cel/mand/strings). Fêtes galantes was actually planned as a hybrid opera-ballet to a libretto by Debussy’s friend Louis Laloy in November, 1913. For this, Laloy arranged selected poetry by Paul Verlaine into three tableaux, replacing an earlier (unstarted) Debussyan project with Charles Morice of 1912 entitled Crimen amoris. During his last productive summer of 1915, Debussy set a sequence from the start of the first tableau, ‘Les Masques’, involving stanzas 1 and 3 of the opening song for Mezzetin in Verlaine’s comedy Les Uns et les autres (1884). The action is set in a park à la Watteau late one summer afternoon as Mezzetin attempts to entertain a group of nonchalant masqueraders with only the aid of his voice and a mandolin.. This appears to have been prefaced by a slower, elegiac introduction reminiscent of the opening of the comtemporary Cello Sonata and it leads to a danced minuet by the masqued dancers which has clear echoes of the piano piece L’Isle joyeuse (1904). Following Laloy’s scenario, the masqueraders then sing extracts from Verlaine’s ‘A la promenade’ (from Fêtes galantes itself). The minuet returns at greater length before being cut short by a chilly gust of wind, after which the park returns to its orginal state (and music) as though nothing had really happened.

Satie: Parade - Final & Suite au Prélude de rideau rougeArranged wind dectet/bass (double wind quintet)The concluding music for Erik Satie's Ballet Parade.Other movements from Parade are available. The finale is a rapid ragtime dance in which the whole cast [makes] a last desperate attempt to lure the audience in to see their showI have omitted the  percussion in my arrangement of the finale. The premiere of the ballet resulted in a number of scandals. One faction of the audience booed, hissed, and was very unruly, nearly causing a riot before they were drowned out by enthusiastic applause. Many of their objections were focused on Picasso's cubist design, which was met with cries of sale boche.Arranged wind dectet/bass (double wind quintet).

James Nathaniel Holland #3070675. Published by James Nathaniel Holland (A0.730382). Kenneth Grahame's classic children's novel is brought to musical life by American Costa Rican composer James Nathaniel Holland in his adaptation of The Wind in the Willows for theatrical dance production, orchestra, soloists and chorus. This fine work is waiting to be premiered. Perfect for children's concerts.A musically sophisticated, lyrical and sentimental adaptation of Grahame's novel, which emphasizes his poetic chapters of Rat and Mole, while maintaining the comedy of Mr. Toad. The genius of this adaptation is full of orchestral colors; a fine introduction to classical music and the orchestra for any young person or novice. --- The Nutley Globe This reduced orchestral score for piano and voices includes all stage directions and aligns measure by measure with the full score for orchestra. Can be used for dancers, or vocalists and final conducting for easier use and rehearsal. Can be used with the performance CDs of this work also.
