Piano Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.956562 Composed by John Menzies MacFarlane. Arranged by Emilee Yates. Christian,Contemporary,Praise & Worship,Sacred. Score. 4 pages. Emilee Yates #6516791. Published by Emilee Yates (A0.956562). This arrangement is a musical journey depicting God in our everyday life. It was arranged at a very turbulent time in my life when I wondered if God was really there and if He really cared to help me. When listening to this arrangement you will hear anguish, you will hear a soul who's questioning their worth, you will sense some pain. You will also hear and feel that God has not left this soul alone. He is right there riding the waves of life with us whispering, Dearest child, I am here. Let me help you. Let go of the pain and let the Savior take it from you. This is a musical illustration of God playing an active roll in our real life. Through all the different experiences, the ups and downs, there is beauty. Just like each part of this music plays a part in creating a complete piece, each part of life - turbulent or calm - creates a beautiful existence. .

Piano Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.955574 Composed by William Chatterton Dix. Arranged by Uzodike Ijeh. Christian,Christmas,Instructional,Romantic Period,Standards. Score. 2 pages. Glen Dike #5018181. Published by Glen Dike (A0.955574). Tune starts out subtle with counterpoint lines, then there is an interaction of question and answer going on with the bass line and the melody. When the bass line rests, the melody is active and vice versa. The dynamics of the piece begins to build up as we have octaves in the bass line runs, as well as in the melody line. There are also more subdivisions going on with the bass line towards the end. The harmonic framework differentiates itself from the original, yet quite interesting sounding.Good for the classroom, for rendition, recitals, solo performance, church service,Christmas Carol and with other instruments.

String quartet - Grade 3 - Digital Download SKU: DX.169424 Composed by Willaim C. Dix. Arranged by Dana F. Everson. Christmas. Sheet Music. Sacred instrumental music. Score and parts. 15 pages. David E. Smith - Digital Sheet Music #169424. Published by David E. Smith - Digital Sheet Music (DX.169424). A string quartet with optional third violin for viola. After a brief introduction the theme is presented in a straight forward ensemble harmonization with some altered pitches. The next section places the melody in the viola line with opposing lines in the violins. The ensuing section now gives the tune to the second violin with contrapuntal action in the other voices. A chorus section is now more articulated and active until the tune is handed to the first violin with ever more moving counterpoint in the other voices. The piece then ends in a strong statement.Key of G, D.

Voice, recorder and percussion - Digital Download SKU: S9.Q25928 Pentatonic. Composed by Carl Orff and Gunild Keetman. Arranged by Arnold Walter and Doreen Hall. This edition: score for voice and/or instruments. Orff-Schulwerk. Downloadable, Vocal and performing score. Op. 1. Schott Music - Digital #Q25928. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q25928). English.Carl Orff devoted much of his life to the development of a philosophy of Music for Children, based on his belief that music is the natural outcome of speech, rhythm and movement. His ideas and pioneering work have had a major influence on music and dance education throughout the world and today that work continues under the guidance of leading teachers and educators in many countries. The five basic German volumes of Music for Children by Carl Orff and Gunild Keetman were published between 1950 and 1954. Edition have since been published in Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Czechoslovakia, Denmark, Estonia, France, Ghana, Great Britain (including a special Welsh edition), Greece, Italy, Japan, Korea, Latin-America, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan and the USA. In 1952 the first edition in translation appeared, an English language adaptation by Doreen Hall and Arnold Walter for their Canadian and American students. A few years later, Margaret Murray independently developed a version (1957-1966), essentially to fulfil the needs of United Kingdom teachers. Inevitably the considerable growth of Orff-Schulwerk in the United States led to the publication of the American Edition (1977) to satisfy the requirements of a different educational system and national heritage. Orff-Schulwerk: Music for Children has proved itself to be a stimulating source of material for music teaching. Carl Orff's fundamental educational ideas have revitalized music education in nursery schools, at all levels of primary and secondary education and in special music schools, based on the concepts that: - music, dance and language are inter-related and animated through rhythm. - when children discover, invent, improvise and compose, their experience of music is intensified. These creative activities are complementary to those of interpreting and listening to music. - all who take part are encouraged to contribute, not only vocally but also instrumentally. - the Orff approach to music education is many sided; it is concerned with practical music-making, it provides fundamental experiences and it lays the foundation for a comprehensive musical training. - movement games and activities for body awareness in space, time and flow, lead to movement improvisation and dance forms. - music and dance have been notated in many different ways in history. Various ways of writing down sounds and music, as well as playing from and interpreting different kinds of sources are being explored. Today, countless teachers and institutions are using these ideas. More and more teachers look for ways of invovling their students in active music making. In particular, they seek to challenge their pupils' creativity by the use of music, dance and speech - as media of human expression - as a foundation of all education. A prerequisite for work in Orff-Schulwerk is the artistic and pedagogical training of teachers. The Orff Institute was founded in 1961 as a Department of the 'Mozarteum', in Salzburg, Austria. Training offered includes a four-year diploma course, a two-year post-graduate course, and a one-year-course in English. At the opening of the Orff Institute in Salzburg in 1963, Carl Orff ended his speech with a quotation from Schiller: 'I have done my part, now do yours.' That challenge has been taken up by teachers worldwide. Hall/Walter Edition Based on Volumes 1, 2 and 4 of the original German Edition musik für Kinder, english adaption with additional material by Doreen Hall and Arnold Walter.

In 1952 the first edition in translation appeared an English language adaptation by Doreen Hall and Arnold Walter for their Canadian and American students. More and more teachers look for ways of involving their students in active music making. Murray Edition English adaption, with additional material, by Margaret Murray. Besed on, and containing all the rhythmic and instrumental material from the main five volumes of the original German edition. Contents of this third volume: The instrumentation and range of keys are inceased. The settings include the chords on the fourth and fifth notes of the major scale.

By Blaze Scheuerman. 20th Century,Classical,Contemporary,Jazz,Romantic Period. Score and parts. 43 pages. Blaze Scheuerman #651904. Published by Blaze Scheuerman (A0.1047346). Through The Years is meant to be a reflection back onto one’s childhood. Inspired by my own upbringing, it is a recollection of past events that came and mindsets experienced. It opens up with a loud and active sound to show the start of the journey. The character begins happy and energetic, going head first with no fear. The dotted quarter note theme at measure 11 then shows the young child’s state of mind. While beginning to understand concepts of anxiety and fear, he is still full of vigor and confidence. Then at measure 26, the main character begins his adolescence. Still fresh and happy, he sees the world in a simple way and that it is actively watching out for him. He is enjoying this passive time of leisure until measure 40, where he decides to actively try to seek out something. He gets carried away however, and tries to return back to his roots, seen in measure 59. Unfortunately he finds himself tainted and unable to return to his go-getting former self. He then does something peculiar in measure 77. Instead of being angered or saddened by this fact, he accepts it and takes a step back to rebuild himself, seen in the fugato section. After a long and detailed remapping, he finds himself back at his desired happy self. However at measure 127, he feels himself changing once again. So through active awareness and will, he prevents himself from changing into something he doesn’t want to be and instead stays as his desired self.

Brass Ensemble Euphonium - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.927033 Composed by Franz Schubert. Arranged by Danny Chapa. Romantic Period. Score and parts. 35 pages. Kayla Roth #3444757. Published by Kayla Roth (A0.927033). One of Franz Schubert's most famous works (and indeed, one of the most well-known lieder), Erlkönig, based on poetry by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, tells the story of a father, his sick child, and a malevolent elf-spirit called Erlkönig (elf king or alder king). The child, delirious with fever, insists to his father that the Erlkönig means to harm him; as his father reassures the child that he is only imagining things, the Erlkönig torments him, sweet words turning into threats. The father races through the forest on his galloping horse with his son in his arms, arriving back home only to find that the child has succumbed to his fever. In Schubert's original composition, the galloping of the horse is depicted in incessant triplets played by the pianist, while the vocalist must portray four different characters - the narrator, the father, the son, and the Erlkönig. Danny Chapa's arrangement for four euphoniums preserves these aspects, dividing the vocal roles amongst the four performers: part one is the narrator, part two is the son, part three is the father, and part four is the Erlkönig. The fifth character of the horse is disbursed throughout all parts.Dr. Chapa holds degrees from Louisiana State University and from the University of North Texas and has held faculty positions at Stephen F. Austin State University and at Brookhaven College. He is an active performer and lecturer at concerts and conferences around the United States. For more great euphonium literature, be sure to check out other selections from Atticus Sounds Publications here on Sheet Music Plus!

Christ The Savior Is Born! is a compilation of songs celebrating the impact of Christ, with a twist. The songs featured in this selection are written in contrasting styles and meter, helping them to stand apart from their traditional versions. The songs featured are Hark, The Herald Angels Sing, Joy To The World, O Come All Ye Faithful, What Child Is This? (Greensleeves), God Rest Ye Merry Gentleman, and Silent Night. This selection is sure to keep audiences guessing about what will happen night, and will provide a high level of contrast to other selections that might be featured on a holiday concert. The first six notes of the tune, played by a solo horn, are some of the final notes in the melody of Silent Night. The second verse of this selection features these particular notes set to the phrase Christ the Savior (or Saviour) is born. This motif is present in all of the featured songs within the arrangement, and it may be a opportunity to engage audiences in active listening.
