Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.940608 Composed by Barry Stinton. 20th Century,Contemporary. Score. 5 pages. Barry Stinton #3383585. Published by Barry Stinton (A0.940608). For solo pianoThis piece has been composed using the inspiration from various romantic composers such as Liszt and Chopin using a familiar right hand melody style of octave movements to Chopin's F minor nocturne. The piece is based off of C sharp minor a favourite and popular key of many. There are several incorporated runs and melodies, with slight key changes using a standard sonata style form moving from the main theme to other lands and beyond. It was composed recently in November 2017.

Piano Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1168607 Composed by RugilÄ— KaupaitÄ—. Film/TV,Historic,Instructional,New Age,Spiritual. Score. 5 pages. RugilÄ— KaupaitÄ— #768944. Published by RugilÄ— KaupaitÄ— (A0.1168607). This composition was created for my late grandfather, whose death was sudden and unexpected. You can hear the sounds of tragedy and horror in the piece, at that time I couldn't handle my feelings very much, so everything spilled out in the piece, a breakthrough of good emotions, both bad and neutral. So if you want to dive deep into the most intimate places of your soul, think about life moments and past, these music sheets are just for you.

Published by stanleymhoffman.com (A0.1465707). Based on one of only several poems written by my mother, Jewish Holocaust survivor Rita Hoffman of blessed memory (1927–2018), Only from Blood Does Freedom Grow echoes the words of Hatikvah (The Hope), the national anthem of Israel. I have to believe that she wrote this poem around 1948 because of how it is worded. I of course knew the source of inspiration for this poem when I reread it not long ago—something I had not done since the 1990s—but its having been inspired by Hatikvah was really driven home to me by a Facebook comment. That comment inspired me to compose a piece in which the opening and closing sections are based on the opening melody of Hatikvah, but in which the middle section is newly composed. “Israel was not created in order to disappear - Israel will endure and flourish. It is the child of hope and the home of the brave. It can neither be broken by adversity nor demoralized by success. It carries the shield of democracy, and it honors the sword of freedom.” —John F. KennedyMy mother’s brief memoirs are housed at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, DC. https://collections.ushmm.org/search/catalog/irn502129—Stanley M. Hoffman, 25 June 2024—Only from Blood Does Freedom Grow For so many years a voice sounded in Jewish hearts saying,“We want to have a home, we want to have a life again.”Enough blood has already streamed through rivers, the blood shed by our brothers *[and sisters],they, who for freedom of strangers and nation died. Now, the dream we dreamt for a long time has been awakened in us.We want to fight for our state, our country. The moment that we have been waiting for and been praying fortwo thousand years has brought us a spark of hope.We must not despair, for we are nevertheless Jews.We must and must want to persevere.A time will come which itself will become a symbol of our tragedy, and which will remain forever in our hearts -a burning flame, and a joyful feast. —Rita Hoffman (1927–2018)Words: © Copyright 1948 by The Estate of Rita Hoffman. All rights reserved. Violin and orchestra - difficult - Digital Download SKU: S9.Q6622 (Memorial for the Columbia Astronauts). Composed by Peter Eotvos. This edition: piano reduction with solo part. Downloadable, Piano reduction with solo part. Duration 21 minutes. Schott Music - Digital #Q6622. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q6622). Eötvös wrote this piece in memory of the seven astronauts who lost their lives in the Space Shuttle Columbia tragedy in 2003. The number 7 determines the musical, rhythmic and formal structure of the work: 49 musicians are divided into seven groups, and as well as the solo violin there are six further violins arranged correspondingly around the hall; and the solo violin itself portrays each of the astronauts and their different origin, from America via Israel to India, in folkloristically tinged cadenzas. 'The violin concerto Seven is a very personal monologue and the musical expression of my sympathy towards the seven astronauts who lost their lives while exploring space in fulfilment of a fundamental dream of mankind.' Piano,Violin - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1238659 Composed by Franz von Vecsey. Arranged by Paul Wood. Romantic Period. 7 pages. MyMusicScores.com #834097. Published by MyMusicScores.com (A0.1238659). Programme NotesBorn in Budapest, Franz de Vecsey showed an extraordinary talent for the violin from a young age. His musical journey began under the guidance of his father, Lajos Vecsey, but it was his subsequent studies with renowned violinist Jenő Hubay that truly shaped his virtuosity. At the tender age of 10, he impressed none other than Joseph Joachim with his exceptional skills, solidifying his status as a child prodigy. However, in the 1930s, tragedy struck. Just as Vecsey was poised to fulfill his dreams, he fell gravely ill with a pulmonary embolism, a condition that plagued him throughout his life. Seeking medical treatment, he traveled to Rome, where he underwent surgery in the hope of a recovery. Unfortunately, the operation proved unsuccessful, and at the tragically young age of 42, Franz de Vecsey succumbed to his illness. His piece, Valse Triste in C minor, composed in 1913 and dedicated to Princesse Elena Lante della Rovere, serves as a poignant reminder of Vecsey's musical genius. Through its haunting melodies and evocative harmonies, the composition encapsulates the depth of his emotions and the profound beauty of his art. Though his life was cut tragically short, Franz de Vecsey's legacy lives on.

Duet Clarinet in Bb, Cello - Intermediate / Advanced - Digital Download SKU: D3.SM-05-0002F Composed by Jack Curtis Dubowsky. Instrumental Duet. Jean Racine's (1639-1699) tragedy Andromaque (1667) inspired these duets. Contemporary. Sheet music; Two copies. 36 pages. De Stijl Music Digital #SM-05-0002F. Published by De Stijl Music Digital (D3.SM-05-0002F). 8.5 x 11 inches.Bongatelles is a pun in homage to Erik Satie's whimsical titles. Satie also found inspiration in Greek antiquity and French literature, most notably his Socrate. Jean Racine's (1639-1699) tragedy Andromaque (1667) inspired these duets. Racine took his characters from Greek and Roman stories and adapted or created new situations for them in accordance with baroque fascination with neo-classicism in literature. Andromaque is a love quadrangle in which all who love die or go insane. Only the prisoner-queen Andromaque, who is incapable of love, survives. Andromaque, icy cold, rejects amorous advances from her captor Phyrrus. She plots her survival, trying desperately to save her infant son Astyanax from the Greek ambassador Oreste who would have her Trojan line finished off for good. The baby Astyanax sleeps silently, unaware of the deadly drama surrounding him. Does he nap peacefully? Or does he dream, like his mother, of revenge for the death of his conquered father, the great Trojan warrior king Hector? Phyrrus awkwardly tries to sweet-talk his captive Andromaque into marriage. She rejects him until he becomes furious and threatens to kill her son Astyanax unless she agrees to wed. Phyrrus alternates between threats and cajoling. Hermione loves Phyrrus, who decides to marry Andromaque instead. She rejects her own suitor Oreste, until she vengefully has him kill Phyrrus. Oreste does her bidding, only to be rewarded by a final rejection. She accuses Oreste of being a murderous monster. When Hermione sees the body of Phyrrus, she kills herself. The Greek soldier and ambassador Oreste sailed to Epire to persuade King Phyrrus to kill or hand over the infant Astyanax, last of the line of Troy. Oreste is torn between duty and love for usury Hermione. Her broken promises and final rejection affect him profoundly. Oreste goes insane upon learning of her death.

Debussy’s friendship with the versatile poet and playwright Gabriel Mourey began in 1899, and in July 1907, Mourey offered Debussy a libretto based on Le roman de Tristan - Joesph Bédier’s adaptation of a twelfth-century Breton romance by the Anglo-Norman poet known as Tomas - which had recently been published in Paris. Debussy enthusiastically outline the four-act plot to Victor Segalen that October, and the main differences from Wagner’s Tristan und Isolde are that none of the action takes place in Cornwal and that “Isolde of the white hands” is found guilty of cuckolding King Marc with Tristan, who has to rescue her from the leper colony in which she is abandoned in Act 1. She also betrays hi when he goes mad at the end.
The idea of a Tristan that restorced its ‘legendary character’ and had no connections with Wagner, appealed to Debussy, who was extremely moved by the circumstances of Tristan’s death. Even if he thought that Mourey’s poetry was “not very lyrical and many passages do not exactly “invite” music”, he did work on the libretto and the music that summer and sent his pubisher Jacques Durand, ‘one of the 363 themes for the “Roman de Tristan”’ in a letter sent from Pourville on 23 August, 1907. The present prelude grows from this theme, together with the poignant Breton folksong “Le Faucon”. After a short atmospheric introduction, Debussy’s dance-like theme (which is definitely not a leitmotif) gradually gains momentum and after it reaches it ecstatic climas, representing the transient happiness of the lovers, it dissolves into an expressive coda and an elegiac close (all growing from Debussy’s opennning, off-stage trumpet calls), leaving us with the ultimate tragedy of their ill-fated advice.
Unforunately, Mourey’s actual libretto has been lost and the project eventually foundered because Bédier’s cousin, Louis Artus, wanted Debussy to use the scenario he had prepared and copyrights for the stage, and would not allow him to proceed with Mourey’s version. Debussy, it need hardly be said, would never have dreamed of collaborating with the author of the vaudeville hit La culotte (The pants)!

Debussy’s friendship with the versatile poet and playwright Gabriel Mourey began in 1899, and in July 1907 Mourey offered Debussy a libretto based on Le roman de Tristan - Joseph Bédier’s adaptation of a twelfth-century Breton romance by the Anglo-Norman poet known as Thomas - which had recently been published in Paris. Debussy enthusiastically outlined the four-act plot to Victor Segalen that October, and the main differences from Wagner’s Tristan und Isolde are that none of the action takes place in Cornwall and that “Isolde of the White Hands” is found guilty of cuckolding King Marc with Tristan, who has to rescue her from the leper colony in which she is abandoned in Act 1. She also betrays him when he goes mad at the end.
The idea of a Tristan that restored its ‘legendary character’ and had no connections with Wagner, appealed to Debussy, who was extremely moved by the circumstances of Tristan’s death. Even if he thought that Mourey’s poetry was ‘not very lyrical and many passages do not exactly “invite” music‘, he did work on the libretto and the music that summer and sent his publisher, Jacques Durand, ‘one of the 363 themes for the “Roman de Tristan”’ in a letter sent from Pourville on 23 August, 1907.
