Solo Guitar - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1291077 Composed by Rocco Di Pietro. 21st Century,Chamber,Classical,Contemporary. Individual part. 8 pages. Rocco Di Pietro #881769. Published by Rocco Di Pietro (A0.1291077). “Interrupted Dance†was written for the Guitarist Larry Marotta who I have worked with for many years.I felt comfortable giving Larry the difficult tasks of going back and forth between a simple childhood tunewith variations Mozart would have approved of.I contrasted that with daunting extended techniques from the old Avant -Garde.I did not want to get rid of any technique which would still be useful to me frommy old love of Modernism, but I wanted to use that as part of my current practiceof letting the past in, which has moved away from 1966.The dance was inspired by a little sculpture a friend of mine gave to me, which depicts abooby -trapped playground. It shows a little swing set surrounded by thorns anddaggers. There is a little teddy, who wants to ride the swing but never does, because he sees the bucket of blood. The little swing set is represented by the childhood tune in its various transformations. The work is simply dedicated to that friend. The work contains two endings. The guitarist traveling teddy navigates the playground in triumph in the first endingand individuates and rejects the playground in the second ending.Returning to the practice of life in maturity.RDP.

String Ensemble,String Trio - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.576736 Composed by David Warin Solomons. 20th Century,Contemporary. Score and parts. 7 pages. David Warin Solomons #119391. Published by David Warin Solomons (A0.576736). Mysterious piece in octatonic mode, originally written for the short story The Door The pdf file contains score and parts. The sound sample is an electronic preview. High up on the grassy hill behind the town there is a door. It stands there in its frame with nothing before or behind it. It is locked shut. There is no key. We climb the hill each day. We play each side of the door, games of hide and seek. But we cannot go through the door. Each day we go there during this long sultry summer holiday. We are fascinated by the structure. Why would anyone put a door up there, in its frame, eternally locked, with nothing before or behind it? Maybe it is all that remains of an ancient house? We play, we wonder, we laugh and play, and we return regularly to our homes in time for tea. Then, one day, as we climb the hill for the umpteenth time, a lady dressed in white arrives before us. We watch her take the key out of her bag and insert it in the lock. We are too far downhill to catch up before she closes the door behind her. As we arrive, puffing and panting, Steve knocks on the door. No answer. Dave knocks on the door more forcefully. We hear a distant swish of robes. Gloria knocks, perhaps a little more timidly as the swishing sound approaches. Estelle begins to knock in her turn and the door suddenly opens wide. We all gasp as we see the lady standing there in glistening robes. Her face is hidden from view by a white shawl, but her piercing eyes still show. Children, she says, welcome all. Do come in, please, the kettle is on. You are just in time for tea. We hesitate, as well we might. How can we come in when there is nothing before or behind the door? But Estelle puts one foot inside and looks back at us with a curious expression of serenity on her face. We follow her. We look around at the new space beyond the door and at the parquet floor beneath our dew-soaked feet. As our eyes become accustomed to the brightness of the interior we catch sight of many signs of the world we have entered, but only fleetingly. They pass before our eyes in an instant and then flee beyond the range of sight. There is a staircase, a hat stand, a distant gleam of an ancient cooker, a faint whiff of scones and boiling jam. As we walk inside, our senses are overwhelmed with the new reality, we are rooted to the spot. Do please sit down, says the lady with a slight catch in her throat. We are seated on wooden chairs along one side of an oak table, although we cannot recall how we got there, some slip of the memory perhaps. We have no sense of foreboding, Estelle's serenity has passed to all of us. We can stay here eating scones and jam until the end of time. The lady removes her shawl and reveals a face as beautiful as anyone's mother's. Her deep black eyes glisten like obsidian. She beams a smile of welcome and pours the tea. I'm glad you have come. I've been expecting you, she begins. You must have a thousand questions, so do please ask away. Well, says Steve, what is this door that we passed through? Is this another world? There is no other world, the lady replies, this is the only one. But there is! There is! starts Dave excitedly, Look!. He gets up quickly from the chair, knocking it over in his haste and rushes to the door to open it. He pulls at it with all his force and reveals a black nothingness behind it. We were on the hill, where's it gone? he shouts, what have you done to it? There is no hill. But you climbed the hill in front of us says Gloria. There is no hill. Even Estelle of the serene demeanour is beginning to look worried. How did we get here then, how did you get here, she asks the lady nervously. We have all been here since the beginning of time, the catch in the lady's throat is becoming more evident. No, we have our families down there in the town cries Estelle You have no families,.

Concert Band - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.995848 Composed by Andrew Strawn. 20th Century,Contemporary. Score and parts. 164 pages. Andrew Strawn #4629351. Published by Andrew Strawn (A0.995848). The Mad Adventurer is arguably one of my most monumental works. Comprising of three movements (listed in detail below) it depicts the stress of an Adventurer and his eventual insanity. Composed for Symphonic Band, I hope you enjoy, The Mad Adventurer. I. Dangerous Waters The Great Adventurer has travelled for many years. He has fought in great battles and discovered beautiful treasures. It is for the immense joy he quests. The adventures continue to become more challenging, yet the Great Adventurer always succeeds. II. The Tormented Heart Contrary to his fun from quests, the Adventurer now has a family back home, and he worries what would happen to them if he didn't return. His constant absence caused by his desire for adventure is straining the relationship with his family. He loves them but is always away from them. All the while, death looms above and threatens to end the adventures. III.The Madman The stress and torment of his quests are finally getting to the Adventurer. His emotions are becoming out of control and his mind, irrational. The Adventurer realizes he must return to his family to save his sanity, if not his life. He sets out on one final quest to return home. The trials more mounting than ever before. The once, Great Adventurer is going insane. Until, finally, he crests the hill, and reunites with his family. In the joyful arms of his wife and kids, he is once again, happy.Note: PDF includes a legal-sized score and a letter-sized set of parts.

Baritone, flute, guitar, percussion - Digital Download SKU: S9.Q22853 Biography of the runaway slave Estéban Montejo. Recital for four musicians. Composed by Hans Werner Henze. Arranged by Hans Magnus Enzensberger. This edition: study score. Music Of Our Time. Downloadable, Study score. Duration 76' 0. Schott Music - Digital #Q22853. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q22853). German • English. The making of El Cimarrón began in about 1986, with a conversation I had with Hans Magnus Enzensberger about the difficulties of writing political songs today that would go beyond the achievements of Eisler, Weill and Dessau in this field. It seemed to me that I might try to tackle the problem by writing a cycle with a variety of musical materials out of which perhaps something novel might emerge in a new and different context, almost by chance. Enzensberger told me of the recent publication of a biography by Estéban Montejo, an old Afrocuban who lived in Havana and who recalled his adolescence as a slave, and suggested that I should set episodes from this book that he, Enzensberger, would select for my experimentation. El Cimarrón, however, did not turn into a cycle of songs and was, indeed, not even intended as such - what came out of the work is a new form of theatrical music making. Singer, flautist and guitarist are occasionally required to play percussion instruments. - Hans Werner HenzeMitwirkende: Bariton - Flötist (Picc. · Fl. · Altfl. · Bassfl. · Ryuteki [oder Picc.] · Mundharm. Baritone, flute, guitar, percussion - Digital Download SKU: S9.Q47695 Biography of the runaway slave Estéban Montejo. Composed by Hans Werner Henze. This edition: performance score. Music Of Our Time. Downloadable, Performance score. Duration 76' 0. Schott Music - Digital #Q47695. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q47695). Saxophone Quartet,Woodwind Ensemble Alto Saxophone,Baritone Saxophone,Soprano Saxophone,Tenor Saxophone - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1406650 Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Arranged by James M. Guthrie. Baroque,Chamber,Contest,Festival,Historic,Standards. 59 pages. Jmsgu3 #989408. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.1406650). The importance of Bach's French Suites lies in their unique blend of French and Italian styles despite the misleading title. These suites, composed between 1722 and 1725 for the clavier, showcase Bach's mastery in stylizing traditional dances like allemandes, courantes, sarabandes, and gigues. While named French Suites by later sources like Johann Nikolaus Forkel, they follow Italian conventions with some French influences. The suites offer a rich musical experience, bridging different European styles and serving as valuable teaching pieces. Despite the misleading title, Bach's French Suites are a testament to his compositional genius and continue to be cherished by musicians and audiences alike. The history behind Bach's French Suites is intertwined with a bittersweet period in Bach's life. In May 1720, Bach embarked on a trip, leaving his wife, Maria Barbara, and four children. Tragically, upon his return, he discovered that Maria Barbara had passed away. This loss led to a significant change in Bach's personal life as he became a single father mourning his wife. Despite this tragedy, Bach found love again with Anna Magdalena Wülcken, whom he married. As a gesture of affection and to cultivate her musical skills, Bach composed music for Anna Magdalena, including what would later become the French Suites. These suites were likely performed at court and reflected the couple's intimate musical companionship. The French Suites were not published during Bach's lifetime, possibly because he did not deem it challenging enough. Today, these suites offer an accessible path to Bach's music and are cherished for their stylized dance movements inspired by French and Italian forms.
