Title: A Song of PraiseComposer: John Stainer (1840-1901)Arranger: Andrew LambDescription: This is a transcription of A Song of Praise by English composer John Stainer (1840-1901)John Stainer was an English composer, organist, and music educator born on June 6, 1840, in London. He began his musical career as a chorister at St. Paul's Cathedral and went on to study at the Royal Academy of Music. After graduation, Stainer was appointed organist at St. Michael's College, Tenbury, and later at Magdalen College, Oxford. He also served as the Professor of Music at Oxford University from 1889 until his death.Stainer was a prolific composer who wrote in a variety of genres. He is perhaps best known for his oratorio The Crucifixion, which is still performed regularly today. Stainer's other works include church music, hymns, anthems, and organ music. He was praised for his skillful use of harmony and counterpoint and was considered one of the most important composers of his time.In addition to his work as a composer and organist, Stainer was a respected music educator. He helped establish the Royal College of Music in London and wrote several influential music textbooks. Stainer passed away on March 31, 1901, but his legacy as a composer, performer, and music educator continues to inspire musicians around the world today.

Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Quintet - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.956916 Arranged by Woods Only. Classical,Concert,Romantic Period,Standards,World. 81 pages. Woods Only, Arrangements #6571929. Published by Woods Only, Arrangements (A0.956916). This collection is the first version of the 5 most beautiful songs ever released for woodwind quintet, containing songs of the most varied and periods, from beginner to professional level. It can be performed in various occasions and places such as concert halls and academic stages. You can find the complete score on this site: https://bit.ly/WoodOnly And also expensive music in the description below.I. Swan Lake by Pyotr TchaikovskyBeautiful melody eternalized by his entrance on the oboe; Swan Lake. In a version for wood quintet where it preserves the original beauty and maintains the subtlety of the original orchestration. It can be performed by music beginners and presented in professional or academic recitals and concerts.II. Adagio from Piano Sonata No. 2 in F major by Amadeus MozartOut of the ordinary, a sad, melancholy and gentle Adagio written by Mozart in his sonata in F for piano. It can be performed by beginners and professionals alike, and is suitable for academic recitals and concerts where the music of the classical period is praised.III. Second Movement from Sonata No. 8 Pathétique by BeethovenThe second movement represents one of the most beautiful pages ever written in music. The soft melody, accompanied by harmonies that could only have come from Beethoven's pen, create an atmosphere of tranquility and impressive calm. For beginning students it is a great piece to develop the notion of the cantabile, and can be performed in academic recitals or concerts.IV. Czardas (Csárdás) by Vittorio MontiFun and celebrated original music for violin in a version that maintains the subtlety and joy contained in the original work, even though it is also folkloric, this does not prevent it from occupying its space on the great stages of concert halls and conservatories, it is not suitable to be played by beginners, but can be performed in academic recitals or concerts.V. Clair de lune from Suite Bergamasque by Claude DebussyThis arrangement for woodwind quintet was made thinking of the symbolism and beauty of the original work, keeping the essence of the original work and can be performed by intermediate students and presented in recitals and concerts.

Small Ensemble Bassoon,Clarinet,Flute,Horn,Oboe - Digital Download SKU: A0.782238 Composed by William Byrd. Arranged by James Haynor. Praise & Worship,Renaissance,Sacred,Spiritual. Score and parts. 32 pages. James Haynor #3886455. Published by James Haynor (A0.782238). William Byrd (birth date variously given as c.1539/40 or 1543 – 4 July 1623), was an English composer of the Renaissance. He wrote in many of the forms current in England at the time, including various types of sacred and secular polyphony, keyboard (the so-called Virginalist school), and consort music. Although he produced sacred music for Anglican services, sometime during the 1570s he became a Roman Catholic and wrote Catholic sacred music later in his life. Libera me, Domine written for five voices is a great example of his work and transcribes well for woodwind quintet. ( Duration 6:30 )

Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Quintet Bassoon,Clarinet,Flute,Horn,Oboe - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.813786 Composed by Gustav Holst. Arranged by Regis Bookshar. 20th Century,Contemporary,Sacred,Standards,Wedding. 9 pages. Regis Bookshar #6476781. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.813786). Thaxted (Bb) (Woodwind Quintet) - Intermediate - Digital Download. This marvelous arrangement of Thaxted, a hymn tune based on the Andante Maestoso section from Jupiter, the Bringer of Jollity from Gustav Holst's The Planets, would be a fabulous addition to any music library and could be performed for church services, especially Weddings and Funerals, but would be appropriate any time during the church year. However, if you are looking to perform this selection for concerts or recitals, I would suggest you look for the arrangement of Jupiter (Andante Maestoso from Jupiter, the Bringer of Jollity from The Planets), also by Regis Bookshar. These arrangements are suitable for high school and college students but professional musicians would also enjoy playing these selections as well. Included are a score and a complete set of parts (9 pages). This selection is one of the many arrangements from The Regis Bookshar Trumpet Ensemble's extensive music library which are being made available for the first time. We have performed the Trumpet Quintet version of this composition quite often for numerous weddings and other special occasions. The Planets, written between 1914 and 1917 by the English composer Gustav Holst, premiered at the Queen's Hall in London, on September 29, 1918 for an invited audience of about 250 people. In the fourth movement, Jupiter, the Bringer of Jollity, Holst portrays Jupiter's supposedly characteristic abundance of life and vitality. Nobility and generosity are allegedly characteristics of those born under Jupiter, and in the slower, middle section marked Andante Maestoso, perhaps the most well-known theme from The Planets (and the theme on which this arrangement is based), Holst provides a broad tune embodying these traits. In 1921, Holst adapted the theme to fit the patriotic poem I Vow to Thee, My Country by Cecil Spring Rice, and was written as a unison song with orchestra. It did not appear as the hymn tune until 1926, when Holst harmonized this melody, named Thaxted, named after the English village where he had lived for many years. Holst's friend Ralph Vaughan Williams included it in Songs of Praise. It has since been performed at numerous occasions, most notably for the wedding of Prince Charles and Diana, Princess of Wales in 1981, and also at the funerals of Princess Diana in 1997, Margaret Thatcher in 2013 and Senator John McCain where it was performed at the Washington National Cathedral on September 1, 2018. In addition to being used as the melody for the solemn, patriotic hymn I Vow to Thee, My Country, other settings of this hymn tune also include O God, Beyond All Praising, by Michael Perry in 1982, O Spirit All Embracing by Delores Dufner in 1995 and We Praise You and Acknowledge You, O God, a paraphrase of the Te Deum Laudemus by Stephen P. Starke in 1999.Regis Bookshar thought that it would be wonderful if other instrumentalists could have the opportunity to play this beautiful melody, so, in addition to the Trumpet Quintet version and this version for a Woodwind Quintet, consisting of 1 Flute, 1 Oboe, 1 Clarinet, 1 French Horn and 1 Bassoon (which has the lead), he has made quite a few other arrangements of this selection. There are Quintets readily available for a wide variety of instrumental ensembles. Please take the time to look for other versions of this composition. You may find something else that may also suit your needs. I would also encourage you to search for other arrangements by Regis Bookshar, as well, as there are numerous arrangements in a variety of styles, also available for purchase. You may find something else which might interest you. Please continue to check periodically because new arrangements are added as often as possible. I'm certain that this beautiful arrangement of Thaxted based on the Andante Maestoso section from Jupiter, the Bringer of Jollity from Gustav Holst's The Planets.

Starke in 1999.Regis Bookshar thought that it would be wonderful if other instrumentalists could have the opportunity to play this beautiful melody, so, in addition to the Trumpet Quintet version and this version for a Woodwind Quintet, consisting of 1 Flute, 1 Oboe (which has the lead), 1 Clarinet, 1 French Horn and 1 Bassoon, he has made quite a few other arrangements of this selection.
