Medium-Low Voice,Vocal Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.534413 Composed by Jacques Leguerney. 20th Century,Concert,Standards. 38 pages. Musik Fabrik Music Publishing #3478897. Published by Musik Fabrik Music Publishing (A0.534413). 1. Plaintes d'Orphée2. Ã?pigramme à un mauvais payeur3. à Chloris4. D'une maigre dame5. Dans le fôret6. Secret Amour 7. Complients à une duègnehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uo7KQ89pzz4Gérard Souzay, French baritone, said of Jacques Leguerneyâ??s music: â??How does one describe this music which is, at the same time, classic and modern? It is pure, but colorfully nuanced; it speaks to the heart as well as the mind: at times calm; at times witty; wise, yet sensual. The music of Jacques Leguerney is un jardin à la française, both elegant and stylish.â? Jacques Leguerney was born in Le Havre on 19 November 1906. His uncle bought his first piano and encouraged him to study and write music. He wrote chamber works, and took a few semesters of harmony with Nadia Boulanger, who arranged for a performance of his Epitaphe guerrière and Clair de lune in a concert organized by the Société musical indépendante at the Salle Pleyel. However, he decided not to continue his studies. He felt that his gift was natural and spontaneous, and that anyone who understood music should not have to do exercises to learn to compose. In 1928, Jane Bathori took an interest in Leguerney, including two songs during her tour in Argentina, and the following year at the Salle Erard in Paris. In 1932, when his father died, Leguerney took over the family business and stopped composing until the outbreak of World War II. The period extending from the German occupation of France to the end of the 1940s constitutes one of the important periods of Leguerneyâ??s musical life. He began his extended song cycle, Poèmes de la Pléiade, and wrote many songs upon poems of Paul-Jean Toulet. He also continued to compose chamber music, including the Sonatine pour violon et piano, the â??Fantasie pour pianoâ? and the Quatuor à cordes en Ré. An important year for Leguerney was 1943. He met musical colleagues who would become his major interpreters. These included Gérard Souzay as well as his half-sister, soprano Geneviève Touraine; pianist Jacqueline Robin (Bonneau), Pierre Bernac, and Francis Poulenc. Robin (Bonneau) particularly influenced Leguerneyâ??s style. His piano accompaniments were created specifically for her virtuosic and sensitive style of pianism. Bernac observed that Leguerney wrote melodies de pianiste. In 1946, Leguerney created a ballet on the mythological story of Endymion. The premiere was at the Opéra de Paris on 27 July 1949, with choreography by Serge Lifar. The Opéra de Paris immediately commissioned a second work, which was La Vénus noire, based upon a short story by Prosper Mérimée. This ballet was never produced, due to disagreements with the choreographer. Leguerney became discouraged and this situation was to lead to the end of his interest in composing. However, the years 1950-1954 brought Leguerney widespread recognition as he created his beautiful mélodie cycles including La Nuit, La Solitude (for piano as well as an orchestration), Le Paysage, and Le Carnaval, as well as the cantata Psaume LXII de David. Gérard Souzay requested many new works for his recitals and premiered La Nuit, Le Carnaval and

Bassoon,Piano - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.534689 Composed by Thierry Pélicant. 20th Century,Concert,Contemporary. Score and part. 25 pages. Musik Fabrik Music Publishing #6230963. Published by Musik Fabrik Music Publishing (A0.534689). A four-movement concerto for bassoon and orchestra (PIC22(CA)22/2100/Timp/2perc/strings) by the noted French composer. Duration is about 16 minutes. This file is the piano reduction and solo part. The score is also available for sale. The parts are on rental from the publisher. Thierry Pélicant was born in 1957 at Sainte-Adresse, France. After studying the organ and the horn, his meeting with Jean-Claude Hartemann, the Musical Director of the Opéra Comique in Paris lead him to decide to explore conducting. He was the student of Haremann for fifteen years. He is the Musical Director of the André Messager Orchestre and has also directed the Orchestre Philharmonique de l’Oise since 1980, one of the oldest French orchestras, since it was founded in 1750. A passionate supporter of French music, Pélicant reconstructed the Messe solennelle of L.V.A Boïeldieu and Te Deum of 1792 by Philidor and premièred and recorded the Suite Parnassienne, Massenet’s last work. At the same time, he has also served the music of our time in premièring or recording the works of Dazzi, Marchand, Braconnier, Bénard, Drouin, Preschez, etc. As a composer, musical grammar and stylistic debates only interest him from afar. As a true gourmet (since cooking is another of his passions), he strives to write the music that pleases him, that would be enjoyable to play and which would be enjoyable to hear, hopefully with real pleasure and in which he tries to express the emotions and the pleasant or surprising states of being which, to hime, these works are tied. Through this process, he has created concertos (for oboe, for bassoon, for organ, for contrabass), Escales & paysages, ma monumental literary concerto for narrator, piano and orchestra, composed with his friend Dominique Preschez, Operas (Histoires comme ça, Ribouldingue, Élise et le fantôme) ; With the poet Luis Porquet, he wrote the song cycle Ombre légère (for soprano, harp and orchestre), Rhapsodie du Havre (for tenor and chamber orchestra, a commission from the Forum de Normandie to commemorate the 500 years of the founding of the city Le Havre), Et de toi, Bethleem, Christmas oratorio for baritone, chorus and orchestra and, finally, commissioned by the Orchestre de l’Oise in honor of the centennial of the First World War 14, fresque de la Grande Guerre, for the tenor Daniel Gà lvez-Vallejo, children’s chorus and orchestra. In the area of chamber music, he has written a sonata for horn and piano, for the Festival de Giverny, Borée, (quintet for oboe and strings), Sextuor d’été, , and Milonga, (septet inspired by the World of Tango Music). Published in 2005, his novel Carnets de Walter Crane, explores the sufferings of a composer who has the obligation to write a string quartet ...

Full Orchestra - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.534554 Composed by Thierry Pélicant. 20th Century,Contemporary,Standards. Score and parts. 136 pages. Musik Fabrik Music Publishing #4283537. Published by Musik Fabrik Music Publishing (A0.534554). In 2004, the Orchestre Philharmonique de l’Oise commissioned its musical director, t Thierry Pélicant, this concerto for the late Claude Caens, the principal contrabass of this orchestra. This great artist, who was friends with everyone in this ensemble, wanted everyone to have a part in the festivities, not only the strings, but also the winds, the horns, the trumpets and the percussion, and also that they all should be heard ! Thierry Pélicant wrote therefore a concerto which is at once very symphonic – and for this reason, it is strongly advised that the contrabass be amplified – but also a piece which would express the friendship between the orchestra and the soloist. This concerto strives to be both warm and lyrical : it is not a virtuoso showpiece, inspite of the real technical that it offers to the soloist and which he would do well to try to hid them from the audience. It is also not a battle between the orchestra and this gentle giant : they stroll together, sometimes joyously, sometimes with nostalgia and go through the strong storms which do not fail to present themselves, smiling together and finding them to be envigorating. The work is scored for (2(Pic)2(EH)22/2200/Timp/2perc/strings) and lasts aproximately 23 minutes. The orchestral parts are on rental from the pubilsher. The piano reduction with the solo part is available for sale on this site.Thierry Pélicant was born in 1957 at Sainte-Adresse, France. Through this process, he has created concertos (for oboe, for bassoon, for organ, for contrabass), Escales & paysages, ma monumental literary concerto for narrator, piano and orchestra, written for his friend Dominique Preschez, Operas (Histoires comme ça, Ribouldingue, Élise et le fantôme) ; With the poet Luis Porquet, he wrote the song cycle Ombre légère (for soprano, harp and orchestre), Rhapsodie du Havre (for tenor and chamber orchestra, a commission from the Forum de Normandie to commemorate the 500 years of the founding of the city Le Havre), Et de toi, Bethleem, Christmas oratorio for baritone, chorus and orchestra and, finally, commissioned by the Orchestre de l’Oise in honor of the centennial of the First World War 14, fresque de la Grande Guerre, for the tenor Daniel Gà lvez-Vallejo, children’s chorus and orchestra. In the area of chamber music, he has written a sonata for horn and piano, for the Festival de Giverny, Borée (quintet for oboe and strings), Sextuor d’été, and Milonga (septet inspired by the World of Tango Music). Published in 2005, his novel Carnets de Walter Crane, explores the sufferings of a composer who has the obligation to write a string quartet ...

Only 300 of the approximately 6,000 houses remain standing. International aid will then be directed to the city to rebuild it, according to new plans, in five years. The ring roads still bear the names of the towns which participated in the reconstruction to this day. Le Figaro organized a festival at the Opéra Garnier to help the victims. On this occasion, Jules Massenet wrote a Heroic March for large orchestra (including 8 saxophones). Here is a version for Concert Band, a tone lower than the original. Grade 4.

Born in Hamburg in 1699, Johann Adolf Hasse, nicknamed "il Sassone", studied with his father, organist from Bergedorf, then in Naples with Porpora and became friends with Alessandro Scarlatti, Farinelli, Galuppi, Jommelli, Haydn and even Jean Sebastian Bach, whom he met in 1731. From his first opera, Antigonus, Hasse enjoyed success and began a career as a composer, musician and conductor which would take him throughout Europe before settling in Venice. Author of 58 operas, oratorios, cantatas, concertos and sonatas of all kinds, almost all of his work was destroyed by the fire of the siege of Dresden by the Prussians in 1760. Despite the stability of its main features, Hasse's style, clearly preclassical, underwent slight evolutions during his career but he remained a composer with a pronounced taste for lyricism, including in his instrumental writing, as demonstrated by the largo of his Concerto in sol Maggiore per Mandolino e cordi. Vivaldian in style, this work most certainly dates from Hasse's Neapolitan period and he developed a fluid and virtuoso writing for the small lute, then very fashionable in the courts and princely salons of this flourishing 18th century. The choice of tonality, the rhythmic discourse and the light orchestration constitute proof that the composer perfectly knew the possibilities of the mandolin for which he undoubtedly composed other works, unfortunately lost today.
