It is basically a song from the rhythm of a bossanova, slow and quiet, well separated from the previous song (the eclectic Lies). The melody has tonal changes and is based on Elton's piano. Bernie's text talks about a man who wants to have a baby and begins to daydream in his head about what his father's future might be like. Specifically, it is one of the very few autobiographical texts written by Bernie (not related to the Elton-Bernie couple but only to himself), since at that time it was he himself who wanted a child.

It combines many of the subjects that fascinate me: the relationship of text narrative and musical narrative, the history of opera, early cinema, the theatrical practices of the nineteenth century, along with the folk and popular music of the Alpine region. A girl (the soprano), stranded on top of an un-climbable mountain peak as a young baby, is taught to sing by the mountain animals. Young Bobli lives in the village far below the un-climbable peak. He was born mute and communicates with the world by playing the trumpet. Bobli hears the soprano's song drifting down into the valley. The soprano listens to Bobli's trumpet tunes blown up to her by the wind. They are both enchanted. The three acts are separated by interludes describing how three animals experience time passing in relation to a musical tempo. Like any self respecting melodrama the text and music combine to depict or imply a wide ranging theatrical adventure, in this piece starting at the Creation (or the big bang), a lonely existence, scenes of rustic village life, some carpentry, many mountain goats, unrequited love, and ending in a quest destined to fail. In a live performance the text [provided with the performance material] is to be projected on a screen behind the musicians in the style of silent movie intertitles. Published by KyleMac Music (A0.1208594). THE MUNSTERS†was an American sitcom airing on CBS from 1964 to 1966. It depicted the home life of a family of benign monsters. The series was a satire of American suburban life, the wholesome television family fare of the era and traditional monster movies. The music, by Jack Marshall, was described by writer Jon Burlingame as a Bernard-Herrmannmeets-Duane-Eddy sound. This arrangement has fun bass lines, so they will enjoy this and need to work on it sounding creepy. Though not marked throughout, the bass line should be separated and emulate a picked electric bass articulation throughout. The rest of the winds is more suitable for 1st & 2nd-year players. Ex. The 2nd clarinets do not cross the break. The percussion is written for a drum set but can be separated as a traditional part for concert band. As usual, I have included plenty of percussion parts to go around. The tom part can be ad-libbed by a drumkit player if you go with that option. The part itself is optional but does help if splitting the drum part. There are three different mallet parts with the xylophone and marimba carrying the load. Bells can be optional. There are lots of sound effects in the accessories part. Ratchet, Cowbell, Vibra-slap, Tambourine, Whistle, Siren whistle. These can be easily substituted with what you have on hand. The first movement depicts the journey of the first lover, a semi-mortal demigod who sets out on a quest to challenge Poseidon for control of the seas. He loses the battle and is cursed to remain lost at sea forever, caught in a vortex with enough strength to swim forever, but not enough to escape. The second movement depicts his mortal human lover, who remains on land. As time continues, the lover grows concerned; they don't know when—or if—their beloved will return. After months have passed, the human decides to go on a quest of their own to find their beloved. The human learns of the demigod's fate, and must make a choice: To live the rest of their life in solitude, separated from the one they love—or to jump into the vortex and doom both of them. The third movement depicts this choice; the human decides to be selfish, and cherish one last moment with the demigod before they both sink to the bottom of the ocean and die in each other's arms.

This is the famous wedding march from Op. 61 composed in 1842 and commonly performed as a recessional march at the end of a wedding. The piece was originally composed for orchestra then arranged for organ and performed by Mendelssohn himself. Mendelssohn: Wedding March Mendelssohn’s Wedding March is so popular that it’s difficult to imagine a wedding without it. It seems like it’s been around for eternity. In any case, it was only 150 years or so ago that the Wedding March came about. It was performed in Potsdam for the first time in 1842, as a piece of Mendelssohn’s music for the Shakespeare play A Midsummer Night’s Dream. It was first used for a wedding in 1858 Mendelssohn Background Felix Mendelssohn (1809 –1847) was, by all means, a German mastermind composer, musician and orchestra conductor of the Romantic period. Consequently, Mendelssohn composed in the usual forms of the time - symphonies, concertos, oratorios, piano music, and chamber music. To summarize, his most famous works include his music for A Midsummer Night's Dream, the Italian Symphony, the Scottish Symphony, The Hebrides Overture, his later Concerto for Violin & Orchestra, and his Octet for Strings. His most well-known piano pieces, by and large, are the Songs Without Words. Artistic Standing Musical tastes change from time to time. Moreover, just such a change occurred in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. This plus rampant antisemitism brought a corresponding amount of undue criticism. Fortunately, however, his artistic inventiveness has indeed been critically re-evaluated. As a result, Mendelssohn is once again among the most prevalent composers of the Romantic era. Early Family Life Mendelssohn was, in fact, born into a prominent Jewish family. His grandfather was, notably, the philosopher Moses Mendelssohn. Felix was, in fact, raised without religion. Sonatina for Oboe and Piano was written in 2016. It consists of three movements, each being a letter of personal homage. The first movement titled Spring Festival is a tribute to Beijing, my birthplace. The music opens with a fanfare passage by oboe that is immediately echoed by piano. The brief dialogue quickly leads to the first main theme of the movement: an up-tempo, rhythmically vibrant melody reminiscent of a Chinese folk dance. The second theme in a slower tempo, is clumsy, somewhat crude yet with abundant charm and humor. The first theme reappears before the movement ends on the uplifting fanfare, much similar to how it all started. The second movement titled Ballade is a letter to my beloved wife, whose elegance and passion inspired me to write this lyrical, through composed piece as a manifest of love. The third movement titled Child’s Play is dedicated to one of my closest childhood friends, himself a terrific oboist. The movement is loosely in an A-B-A form. The two outer sections feature a playful melody in neo-classical style and are separated by a casual and whimsical middle section.

The piece takes the notion of improvisation, commonly associated with the saxophone, and aims to convey this through a fully notated work. Contours is cast in an overall ternary form. A fairly chromatic opening section develops a succession of short phrases, occasionally repeated by octave displacement, that are separated by notated silences. The middle section is more obviously influenced by jazz and is itself in an arch form. It is framed by a fanfare idea followed by a theme of triplet arpeggios. The apex of this central part is a jazz-like syncopated melody. This idea is repeated with its own canon, thus giving the illusion of two saxophones answering each other in contrasting octaves. The opening section then returns in full, exact in rhythm and almost exactly in inversion by pitch. The piece is accessible for the listener and is appropriate for advanced saxophonists, including students and professional players.Duration: 6 minutes 30 seconds.
