The sanza, also known as the kalimba, is a traditional African musical instrument that belongs to the lamellophone family. This instrument consists of a wooden body (sometimes a calabash or a wooden resonator box) on which a series of metal tines of different lengths are attached. The tines are played by plucking them with the thumbs, fingers, or sometimes with sticks.
