'Since First' was first published in Thomas Ford's
"Music of Sundry Kinds" in 1607. Note that Thomas Ford
did not write the original (although it is commonly
attributed to him); instead, "Music of Sundry Kinds"
was a collation of pieces by unknown or obscure
composers and songwriters. It is likely, though, that
he introduced his own interpretation ...(+)
