I FIRST STARTED SINGING WHEN I WAS ABOUT 8 YEARS OLD. MY BROTHER AND I USED TO SING ALONG WITH BLACK VINYL 78 GOSPEL ALBUMS BY THE BLACKWOOD BROTHERS, THE BROWN'S FERRY FOUR, AND THE HUMBARD FAMILY. ON YEARLY TRIPS TO MISSOURI WE WOULD SING THE EVERLY BROTHERS' "DREAM, DREAM, DREAM" IN 2 PART HARMONY. I WENT TO THE UNIVERSITY TO STUDY MUSIC (BIOLA) AND PRINCIPLED IN VOICE (5 1/2 YEARS OF PRIVATE LESSONS WITH DR. WILMAR WALL). DR. RAYNOR BROWNM A PROMINENT ORGAN COMPOSER AND PERFORMER, WAS MY PRIVATE COMPOSITION TEACHER. POST GRAD I STUDIED PRIVATELY WITH LUCRETIA FAYE SHAW-LONG.
