Poland Poland
Joachim Józef Kaczkowski (* around 1789 in Tábor (Czech Republic); † January 2, 1829 in Warsaw ) was a Polish composer, violinist and teacher.

Kaczkowski lived in Warsaw from 1810 to 1825, then in Germany. He wrote two violin concertos, chamber music for two and three instruments, variations and polonaises for string quartet, and piano music. In a letter to J. Białobłocki, Chopin assessed one of the polonaises: "The polonaise is very good and beautiful, in a word, enjoyable to listen to."
