Very Bachian (except more cheerful). Conveys, to me anyway, a complex series of fleeting moods with subtle variations. Clearly, complex to play as well. Looking forward to more alphabetical pieces.
↪ I will take Bachian any day. It is interesting that so many fugues are in minor keys. I wonder why that is. I am glad you enjoyed hearing this one. A little tricky to play in spots. That is probably why it took me twenty years to record it. Ha. Ha.
Daniel, I haven't posted any other A to Z pieces here. They are all available on my website, however. ... I don't usually write pieces that demand this kind of concentration and dexterity. It kind of taxed by own skills, too. That is probably why it took me 20 years to finally get it recorded. Ha.
What a great fugue!
I believe this piece is more difficult or technically demanding than most of the recent piano works from you I've heard while it maintains some subtle (or not) style that actually resembles those.
Is the rest of the letters published here?
Kind regards,
Daniel-Ømicrón.
↪ Thank you so much. Yes. A couple of spots are difficult to play (for me, at least), but most of it is accessible. Speed does not matter at all, I think... The full collection of A to Z can be found at my website http://www.paulpage.org
