Around 1692 Georg Friedrich Händel was Zachow's
student in Halle and was taught by him in organ,
harpsichord and violin playing as well as in
composition, especially in counterpoint and the
compositional styles that were current at the time.
Throughout his life, he praised his teacher and gave
his widow money several times in financial
difficulties.
