Gheorghe Cucu (b. February 11, 1882 , Puiești , Tutova County - d. August 24, 1932 ) was a Romanian composer, conductor and folklorist.
It was a classic of Romanian choral music. More than 100 pieces of music remain from him, some printed. Through the creative use of folk song in his choral works, he contributed to the development of the Romanian national music school. Author of some basic works in this sense, characterized by realistic content and humor, by popular intonation and mastery of composition ("Beauty comes on water", 1931 ; "Haz of trouble").
