A piece for voice (soprano) and electronically
generated sounds via computer, as a result of my
participation to the project 'OPUS:Testing' organised
by the Canadian Music Centre with subject-matter a
piece for these media based on an excerpt for the
Chinese philosophical book 'Tao-Te Ching'. My piece,
among seven others, was workshopped and finally
performed in February 2017 in Canada.
LYRICS TAO-TE-CHING - Chapter Twenty-two, first verse
English version
If you want to become whole, let yourself be partial.
If you want to become straight, let yourself be crooked.
If you want to become full, let yourself be empty.
If you want to be reborn, let yourself die.
If you want to be given everything, give everything up.
