Editorial policy:
● The range and notes’ shapes arrangements for
cello are as Mr. Delsart’s first Hamelle edition. And
I proposed only a few more naturally-sounding notes as
“Ossia”.
● For some articulations such as slurs, Mr.
Delsart's cello part has some suggestions that matches
the instrumental characteristics of the cello. But
there are also points (including transcription errors)
that violate the intention of the original violin
part.
Therefore, I put the violin part’s articulations of
the first edition to reset the information. Slurs that
are not in the cello part of the first edition are
indicated by dotted lines.
It does not mean that you should do the bowing as
written, but I hope that this edition will be useful as
a material close to the original music.
● The alphabet numbers for rehearsal corresponds
to the cello part of the first edition, and the bar
number corresponds to both Bärenreiter and Henle
editions. The page layout and page numbers are the same
as those of the cello part of the first edition, to
make it easy to compare.
