This chorale survives by way of the Dietel collection
and can be found in both D–B Am.B 46/II and the
Penzel collection as well. This setting was assigned a
BWV number in 1998.
Of some interest to this work is the discovery by
Michael Maul (Bach-Archiv, Leipzig) of an account of a
funeral in Leipzig which makes specific reference to a
chorale harmonised by Bach, namely BWV 1122, Denket
doch, ihr Menschenkinder". It's one of a small group of
chorale settings whose attribution was doubt...(+)
