Daniel,
I had not thought melancholy, but after just listening again, I can hear that, too. It is interesting how different people will hear the exact same music, yet come to different conclusions about it. ? I really appreciate your brief comment about the performance, too. I do take time with that and I am glad you noticed. It really does make all the difference. Unlike every other art, music is a living, breathing thing that takes on new and nuanced meaning every time it is performed.

I write nearly every day and tend to write rather rapidly. So, my output is maybe a bit more than most. I always enjoy the process (not always the outcome).

Well, I am happy that you enjoyed No. 53. There are more (a lot more) that I will post as the months go on. Your encouragement and kind reactions to my scores is so very much appreciated.

You make the scores live with your interpretations, Paul. The first movement seems somewhat challenging, yet feels simple in your hands.

The second movements seems more catchy to me, perhaps because of the ternary form or for some other reason I cannot clarify in my mind right now. Seems like a prudent approach to a certain peaceful place.

As it happens sometimes with a few other pieces/movements of yours, the third movement seems to push the limits of what it's already a high quality value of the average of them. It ended too soon, I definitely enjoyed it the most! Really drammatic, inspiring and melancholic.

Part of that melancholy surely passes to your fourth, final, longer and more complex movement. Another jewel of mixed joy and melancholy. It's 08 Oct. so this piece has only 10 months?! That would mean your production rate is being very high this year! Cannot wait to hear the next, thank you again for your recordings and compositions!
