Stirring arrangement of Oh! Say, But I'm Glad, perfect for offertory or other special church music

1. There is a song in my heart today,
Something I never had;
Jesus has taken my sins away,
Oh! say, but I’m glad.

2. Wonderful, marvelous love He brings,
Into a heart that’s sad;
Thro’ darkest tunnels the soul just sings,
Oh! say, but I’m glad.

3. We have a fellowship rich and sweet,
Tongues can never relate;
Abiding in Him is a rea...

Joy Unspeakable and Nine Other Hymns of Joy

There are many reasons we as Christians have to be joyful. We serve the most powerful being in the universe, Creator of Heaven and Earth, a God that bows to nothing as He carries out His will. We have a home in Heaven for sure, prepared for us by God Himself, a place of majesty and splendor where there will be no tears or suffering. We have the Lord’s promise that “All things work together for good to those that love to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose” (Romans 8:28), a promise that means, even in times of trouble, we can be happy if we think on the God we serve.
And yet, there’s another reason for our joy, a reason against which all the others pale in comparison. And that is the great truth found in Romans 5:8: “…God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” The Creator, the Almighty, a God that certainly doesn’t need us, Who we left to ourselves could do nothing to please because of our sinfulness, decided to love us—even to the extent that He would have His only Son die for us—so that we might live with Him in glory—because He loves us. The reasons for such love are incomprehensible, but the results of it our very tangible indeed—and that is why those Christians who are in a great relationship with their Father always seem to have some sort of happiness about them. When you think of how good God is, and how much He has loved us, it’s hard not to be happy!
The ten hymns in this collection all speak of this joy in some form or another. “Joy Unspeakable” combines many of these reasons in its verses, summing up with, “It is joy unspeakable and full of glory.” “In the Garden” speaks of the joy we have in the personal relationship Christ’s sacrifice allows us to have with God. “O Happy Day” reminds us of the joy on that first day when we asked God to be our Saviour. These and all the other hymns in this collection are sure to bring a smile to the faces of your congregation!
