Górecki's Church Songs, based on melodies from Rev Jan Siedlecki's ?piewniki Ko?cielne ('church songbooks'), were composed in 1986. This edition is based on the PWM edition of 2013, which was produced with the assistance of Anna Górecka and Miko?aj Górecki. A special feature of the Boosey publications is the new, alternative Latin sung text by Edward Tambling, which will be attractive to the many choirs who do not wish to sing in Polish. The Latin text is carefully crafted to fit Górecki's score and is both poetic and sensitive to the devotional aspect of the songs. English translations from the Polish are also included, for reference only.The three publications present the songs for sacred use according to devotional subject-matter. In concert performances the songs, or a selection of them, may be performed in any order and combination. Vol 1 contains six songs in praise of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The seven songs in vol 2 take the themes of Good Friday, the Crucifixion, The Cross of Christ and the Resurrection. Il y reçoit un enseignement de qualité, autant dans le domaine technique divulgué par les chercheurs de l'IRCAM, que musical avec les compositeurs Philippe Manoury et Tristan Murail. De 1992 à 1994, il est engagé dans l'institut en tant qu'assistant musical, et travaille avec les compositeurs Qigang Chen, Martin Matalon et Ivan Fedele.En 1994, Michel Decoust alors directeur du Conservatoire National de Musique de Montpellier lui demande de créer une classe de composition et d'informatique musicale. Il y dispense depuis un enseignement original qui a pour but de faire fusionner l'apprentissage de la composition instrumentale et celui des nouvelles technologies pour la musique.Il dirige cette même année les Choeurs de l'ADAC (Mairie de Paris).Christophe de Coudenhove se consacre autant à la musique instrumentale et vocale qu'aux oeuvres mixtes. Corpus Christi is an anonymous Middle English Carol first written down c.1500. It was re-worked as a carol for Soprano and Tenor Soloists with SATB chorus by Peter Walock (1894-1930) in 1919. It wasdedicated to Thomas Strong later Bishop of Oxford who had been Dean of Christ Church College during Warlock's brief time studying there and who is better known for encouraging William Walton's musicalcareer. While he is best remembered for his scandalous lifestyle and his large-scale Capriol Suite the Corpus Christi carol ranks alongside Bethlehem Down as one ofWarlock's most sensitive and beautiful creations.
