Erinnerung ('Remembering' or 'A Remembrance') was commissioned with the aid of funds provided by the RVW Trust for the Evelyn Barbirolli Memorial Concert at the Bridgewater Hall Manchester on 6th June 2009. The score is written with the Cor anglais line transposed.

I sleep but my heart waketh was commissioned by the National Youth Choir of Great Britain and premiered by them in a concert at Manchester’s Bridgewater Hall directed by Michael Brewer on 15th April 2006. Scored for eight-part choir this is Tarik O'Regan's setting of seven sentences from the King James Version translation of the Song of Songs (or Song of Solomon).

Full Score-Commissioned by The Manchester Grammar School to celebrate its quincentenary in 2015. First performed on 16 April 2015 at the Bridgewater Hall Manchester by The Manchester Grammar School Choir Hallé Youth Choir and Hallé Orchestra conducted by Mark Elder. Composer’s Note: 'A Celestial Map of the Sky commissioned by The Manchester Grammar School on the occasion of its quincentenary takes its cue from two woodcuts engraved by the German polymath Albrecht Dürer in 1515 the same year in which school was founded. These two groundbreaking polar projections of the northern and southern celestial hemispheres are the oldest printedEuropean star charts. Whereas prior celestial projections sometimes depicted allegorical figures looking over the skies Dürer instead honoured four ancient astronomers by depicting them at their work overseeing his maps. The various texts I have chosen (mostly extractions from larger works) reflect the changing worldview hinted at in Dürer’s charts. His inclusion of the four astronomers was a signal that the universe could be comprehended through human intervention rather than solely through spiritual or symbolic means.' - Tarik O’Regan

Journey of the Lone Wolf tells the story of the hungarian composer Béla Bartók. It was commissioned by Dr. Nicholas Childs for Black Dyke Band who gave the first performance on Sunday 26 January 2014 at the Bridgewater Hall Manchester as part of the Royal Northern College of Music Festival of Brass. The composer's programme notes for each movement: 1. Capturing the Peasants SongAfter the upheaval of moving to Budapest the young Béla Bartók meets Zoltán Kodály and the pair embark on summertime adventures throughout the Hungarian countryside to collect and catalogue theastonishing variety (both harmonically and rhythmically) of gypsy and folk music heard in the Balkans. The arrival of WW1 plunges Bartók's beloved Hungary into chaos.2. Night MusicBartók was at times a cold man aloof and lonely. The odd moments of tenderness he showed are portrayed here in a series of evocative solos. His brief but intense affairs speak of a love he could only long for. Jazz is my night music and here there are hints of what Bartók may have heard in the USA later in his life.3. Flight and FightHaving been forced by the world's evils to leave his homeland of Hungary for America Bartók the anti-fascist felt isolated and angry. In this movement we hear his longing for a simpler time of gypsy folk dances as well as his maturity and depth as a composer finally exploring deeper colours and darker themes.

Dream Song was commissioned by BBC Radio 3 for the Manchester Mahler Symphony Cycle in 2010. It was commissioned as the opening work in a concert which featured Mahler's 6th Symphony. The première took place at the Bridgewater Hall Manchester and 27 March 2010 and was given by the BBC Philharmonic conducted by Gianandrea Noseda.

No.3 of Three Upper-voice Carols-A setting of a traditional text from New Hampshire (1784) this is No.3 of Three Upper-Voice Carols by Andrew Carter. A soft a sombre hymn for upper voices with piano or harp accompaniment the piece was first performed by the Manchester Boy's Choir at Bridgewater Hall at Christmas 2002.
