Edition for piano two violins viola and violoncello-Edition for piano two violins viola and violoncello (2-piano reduction with 1 each of the string parts) 'Mr. Mozart Kapellmeister wishes to announce to the most worthy public the appearance in print of three of his recently contrived piano concertos. These three concertos may be performed not only with a large orchestra including wind instruments but also a quattro that is with two violins one viola and violoncello. They will be issued early in April of this year (1783).' As this advertisement shows it was Mozart's intention to keep the accompaniment part flexible in his piano concertos K.413-5 and as we know from a letter Mozart wrote to his father inK.449 as well. In addition to orchestral forces it is also possible to use a chamber setting with string instruments one to a part. This chamber music edition accommodates this option thereby enriching Mozart's charming chamber music with piano. These editions of Mozart's Piano Concertos are based on the Urtext editions published in the New Mozart Edition. In the present arrangement for two pianos the solo Part - as well as the strings - are unchanged and thus identical with the version in the NMA. in B-Dur / Bb Major-German composer Carl Stamitz wrote more than 60 concertos for Violin Viola Viola d'amore Cello Clarinet Basset Horn Flute Bassoon and other instruments. Some of the Clarinet and Viola concertos that Stamitz composed are considered to be among the finest available from the period. Stylistically Stamitz's music is not too far removed from the works of the young Mozart or those of Haydn's middle period. The Clarinet Concerto No. 3 was likely written around 1785 which was the same year that Stamitz was appointed the lead Violin of the Duc de Noailles in Paris. The style of thisconcerto reflects the usual orchestration found in the mid-eighteenth century where most of the important musical material was given to the strings while the winds were left to fill in the harmony. Carl Stamitz's style is pleasant and free-flowing as nicely illustrated in this concerto.

I Give You The End Of A Golden String was commissioned in 2013 by the Royal Philharmonic Society/Britten-Pears Foundation to celebrate the centenary of the birth of Benjamin Brittenand the bicentenary of thefoundation of the Royal Philharmonic Society.The piece was first performed on 8th June 2013 by the Britten Sinfonia conducted by Ryan Wigglesworth.'My aim when I began this piece was to create a long length ofstring music out of a single strand of melody.While experimenting at the beginning shaping and extending a melody in many possible directions I cameacross William Blake???s lines???I give you the end of a goldenstring;Only wind it into a ball It will lead you in at Heaven???s gate Built in Jerusalem???s wall???and this became my working method winding a single tune around itself so that it gradually formed itselfinto amuch richer more complex texture. The process happens three times producing the equivalent of acontinuous three-movement concerto.The ???first movement??? is engendered by two solo violas (the melody at the beginning alreadyentwined witha slightly alternative version of itself). The ???slow movement??? (a more extended more decorated developmentof the opening tune) is introduced by a solo cello (soon winding itself into a quartet of celli). The compositional heritage of Fiala consists of some 120 pieces all except one of them instrumental. They include symphonies concertos and double concertos for various instruments a number of wind instrument partitas and divertimentos chamber music pieces for all manner of ensembles and a total of 17 duets for diverse instruments including one work only partially preserved. Half of them were published during the composer?s lifetime. Both of the duets for oboe and viola or cello were written in Salzburgbetween the years 1778 1785. They are revised and introduced by Miloslav Klement. The publication is part of the old Musica Viva Historica series.
