Comme son titre l?indique l?oeuvre Exultate (qui signifie «se réjouir» en latin) offre un caractère joyeux et exubérant. La fanfare d?ouverture est particulièrement vivante et festive. Elle est suivie d?un thème mélodique plutôt lyrique que l?on retrouve tout au long de l?oeuvre.
