Fanfare #1 For Brass

Par PANUFNIK ROXANNA. Fairfield Fanfare (expanded version) by Roxanna Panufnik is a 4-minute work for youth and mixed choirs, brass band and orchestra. Originally commissioned to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Fairfield Halls, Croydon in 2012, the opening chords are based on all the alphabetic note names from FA-ir-F(#)-i-E-l-D, heralding a flourishing section of hustle and bustle that is the city of Croydon today. This expanded version includes brass band and choirs, with a setting of the text from Psalm 127. The expanded version was commissioned by the London Mozart Players, who premiered the piece on 30 June 2016 at Fairfield Halls, Croydon. This edition is the full score in C (EP 72880). It is available for sale as part of the Peters Contemporary Library. A Bicentennial Tribute to Adolphe Sax-Variations ? Paris 1846 fut composé en 2014 à l?occasion du 25e anniversaire de Brass-Aux-Saxes qui coïncidait aussi avec le bicentenaire de la naissance du grand inventeur belge Adolphe Sax. Philip Sparke rend donc hommage à Adolphe Sax avec cette ?uvre basée sur une série de variations sur un thème original. Elle permet à l?orchestre de fanfare (un regroupement rare que l?on ne retrouve qu?en Belgique aux Pays-Bas et quelquefois au Japon) de mettre en valeur les différents aspects de la formation tels que des couleurs variées et leur technique.
