The six stories of musicians contained in this book help the reader to gain an insight into the childhood and youth of important classical and post-classical composers. Accurate in historical details, sensitive and entertaining, this book describes how the life of the protagonists was influenced by music at a very early stage and how they succeeded both in maintaining their ground in an often uncomprehending environment and in creating something new.
