J'ai exposé dans ce volume ma version personnelle des airs d'opéra : tout en gardant ma propre lecture, je les ai adaptés à la carrure des exercices (le nombre pair des phrases de 8 mesures dans la plupart des cas). Les morceaux sont présentés dans l'ordre correspondant au déroulement d'un cours de danse le plus courant. Précédés d'une introduction stylisée, ces extraits peuvent aider les élèves à revivre le contenu émotionnel de la mélodie et de l'exprimer au travers des mouvements de la danse.
