Marty Haugen’s musical, That You May Have Life, proclaims the Gospel of John through song. An eclectic array of musical styles sets the stage for each chapter, bringing the emotion of the characters to life. Musical selections range from beautiful melodic ballads to lush choral harmonies. Haugen incorporates narration, sung dialogue, and song in a way that conveys more than just the biblical texts. This musical includes such familiar narratives as the woman at the well, the raising of Lazarus, and the washing of the feet at the Last Supper. The depth and breadth of each tale blooms forth, enticing us into a personal relationship with these familiar biblical figures. That You May Have Life sings these stories “that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah and that through believing you may have life in his name.†Alto Flute, English Horn and B-flat Clarinet parts are optional Guitar part is for both acoustic and electric Keyboard is for both piano and synthesizer A portion of the prologue is in Greek. Christmas hymn by James Montgomery & Henry T. Smart Larry Shackley has taken this Christmas hymn and its tune Regent Square, and done a full-bore gospel treatment, inviting everyone to Come and worship Christ, the newborn King. A solid, swinging piano introduction sets the stage for Brooklyn Tabernacle-style vocal writing, with the basses frequently involved in lively call and response with the rest of the choir. An original bridge asking the congregation, Oh, won't you come and worship? leads into the triumphant final verse that celebrates the second coming of the Messiah as well as the first.

Jeff Smith's children's musical, Pirates of the I Don't Care-ibbean, is sure to be a big hit especially if your kids love the hilarious silly songs from VeggieTales, the Pirates of the Caribbean Disney movies and Pirates Who Don't Do Anything: A VeggieTales Movie. The musical will reach not only kids, but your congregation with a great message of the Gospel. The story is set inside Pirate Park, home of the Plattsburg Pirates (not to be confused with the Pittsburgh Pirates, Jeff's favorite baseball team!). It is a pirate night at the stadium and families are in the bleachers dressed as pirates to support their woefully bad team. Similar to Dorothy traveling back to the Land of Oz, the story starts with a dream sequence where a young fan named Andy gets hit in the head with a baseball and travels to a fantastical island in the Caribbean called Johnny Bay. As the story unfolds, you learn that the pirates don't remember anything about their past or how they came to Johnny Bay. All they know is that they are required to guard the captain's treasure from anyone who may want to steal it away. Creator Jeff Smith wants kids to learn that, You are not created to be on a deserted island, guarding someone else's treasure. Your real treasure is in heaven, not on earth. Avarice is a tool of the enemy to keep you from becoming all God created you to be on earth. In the story, Andy exposes the lies of the evil captain and helps the pirates assume their rightful place on the sea. During a time when pirate movies are popular, this musical will connect with kids as well as adults and draw them in to something that is both fun and spiritually educational.

Book 5 of the Sing Out! series features wonderful new choral arrangements of five top pop tunes, all arranged by renowned Vocal Coach and Choral Director extraordinaire Mark De-Lisser. Each song has been beautifully arranged for SAT chorus, the unison harmonies totally reinvigorating these favourite pop songs. From the classic rock anthem of the 1980s in Toto's Africa , to the modern pop heartbreaker All Of Me by John Legend, these are great songs with even greater arrangements. The unabashed positivity of Nico & Vinz's Am I Wrong makes a fantastic counterpart to the optimism in the face of pain represented by the arrangement of the traditional gospel song Take MyHand, Precious Lord , a tune used to wonderfully affecting effect in the recent film 'Selma'. Finally, this fresh pop choral setlist is rounded off nicely with Ed Sheeran's Thinking Out Loud , a beautiful love song in which the power and emotion of the words will enhance the performance. Arranged for SAT (Soprano/Alto/Tenor) Choir, these songs are designed to be sung to backing tracks, but Piano accompaniments and Guitar chord boxes are included for rehearsal purposes, or if you wish to perform with a live band. Aside from De-Lisser's incredible arrangements, this pack includes an innovative and user-friendly download card with performance backing tracks, full demonstrations and individual rehearsal tracks of each Vocal part recorded by members of ACM Gospel Choir. Helpful hints for performing each piece are also included in this book, giving you everything you need to learn these well-loved songs. Mark De-Lisser is a celebrated Vocal Coach and Choral Director, who has been featured on BBC1's 'Last Choir Standing'. His extensive introduction and notes within this songbook bring a personal touch, as De-Lisser really is passionate about getting people singing, improvising and, most of all, enjoying themselves. The new Choral arrangements of these fantastic pop tracks are ideal for spicing up a performance with these.

Heinrich Schutz's Osterdialog (Dialogo per la Pascua) SWV 443 for four voices and basso continuo is based on an episode from the Gospel of St John, in which the risen Jesus appears before Mary Magdalene in front of the empty grave. Schutz had also composed a setting of this scene shortly before in 1623 in his Auferstehungshistorie [Resurrection History]. For the first time this edition contains an attempt to reconstruct the extensive final chorus of the work, which is missing except for the basso continuo part, by Helmut Lauterwasser. This musical jewel by Schutz represents a valuable addition to the musical repertoire for Easter, which is smaller than the Passiontide repertoire. 20.443/05: full score without cover and without final chorus 20.443/06: choral score, only final chorus. Score available separately - see item CA.2044300.
