Par CHYRZYNSKI MARCEL. In 2017, after my monographic concert organised by the Polish Music Center in Los Angeles, I hired a car and drove to Las Vegas. However, I didn’t take the interstate highway, the quickest and most used road, but followed an acquaintance’s advice and headed up the picturesque old route through the Mojave Desert formed partly by the famous Route 66. The Mojave Desert made an incredible impression on me, and I stopped many times to savour its charms: the boundless space, the straight road to the horizon, the rocks, the mountains, the sand dunes, the crooked shoots of the Joshua trees...This work represents an attempt to convey the atmosphere of that desert and my feelings at the time. Alligator Alley celebrates thisnoble beast that has remained largely unchanged from prehistoric times. The first theme (“Alligator's Theme”) features the woodwinds (predominantly bassoons) while the second theme (“Hunter's Theme”) isperformed by the brass. Morning Thunder-In The Guitar Artistry Of Chris Proctor the National Fingerstyle Guitar Championship winner talks about his style and influences as well as giving dazzling performances on both 6- and 12- string guitars.Chris Proctor falls squarely into the ?New World? steel-string guitar style. Beginning with pop and rock music Chris was soon drawn to the country blues. After exploring that tradition he studied classical and jazz music the traditional music of the British Isles bluegrass and old-time Appalachian music and finally began to investigate the world of the 12-string guitar.In 1982 Chris won the U.S. National Fingerstyle GuitarChampionship and released his first recording ?Runoff.? For Tenor Sax And Piano-Charles Gounod's restful melody soars over J.S. Bach's famous prelude. Gonoud was one of France's best composers if a little undervalued at the end of the nineteenth century before his interest in Religious and Sacred compositions waned. This piece is a prime example of his interst in ealier forms of music. This version has been faithfully if not wonderfully arranged for a Tenor saxophone and Piano accompaniment by Duncan Reid. This superb piece will be a suitable challenge for those working at grades 2-3.
