Isaac Albeniz composed the individual movements of his Suite Espagnole independently between 1886 and 1899. It was not until 1901 that the suite became known as a coherent cycle. Cellist Bruno Borralhinho arranged the suite for septet in a slightly adapted order and recorded it with his Ensemble Mediterrain.
