This work for soprano solo and SATB chorus was commissioned by the Norwich Festival of Contemporary Church Music.Tavener:'In the Orthodox Church the Lament of the Mother of God is normally sung on Holy and Great Friday. Inits full length it lasts about half and hour and it is intoned by the Priest or Bishop while the people venerate the Epitaphios (or Shroud of the Dead Christ) which is in the centre of the church and decorated withflowers.The Lament must be sung with an ikon-like stillness and great purity. It grows in intensity as it climbs in tessitura but without anything sudden or remotely melodramatic.For the Orthodox Church there is never thesense of absolute desolation felt by the Western Church on Good Friday. Hence the cry of the Mother of God 'Dost thou change my grief to gladness by thy Resurrection?' followed by the full forces: 'Rise O God and judge theearth.'Mother of God also features in the film Philomena starring Judi Dench and Steve Coogan and directed by Stephen Frears.

The Fighting Temptations was the movie hit of the summer in 2003. He Still Loves Me epitomizes the message of the film. Upbeat positive and brimming with life this combination of modern R&B and gospel results in a spiritual song for today.

A favourite for the 2011 Christmas Number One, with support from radio DJ Chris Evans who has suggested every choir in the country should sing this song, it's and nbsp - the biggest threat to X-Factor chart domination this year. The text is taken from poems, letters and prayers written by the Military Wives, selected and adapted by Paul Mealor, and a passage from the Book of John: Wherever you are, my love will keep you safe - My heart will build a bridge of light, across both time and space. The melody part for Richard Shephard's Addington Service is another setting originally composed in the early 70s and still selling well this mostly congregational setting has moments where an SATB choir can flex their vocal muscles. This tuneful setting is easily picked up by congregations. Arranged for SATB and Organ accompaniment.

William Byrd (c. 1540-1623) was an English renaissance composer who wrote several well-known works in both the Catholic and Anglican traditions many of which are still highly popular today. He studied under ThomasTallis at the Chapel Royal before becoming organist and master of the Choristers at Lincoln. He later returned to the Chapel Royal as Gentleman and Organist. O Quam Suavis was inspired by the antiphon tothe Magnificat at the 1st Vespers of Corpus Christi. It makes a perfect anthem for any Eucharist service or Mass. It is scored for SATB choir with Piano reduction for rehearsal purposes.

This composition written by William Llewellyn and arranged here for SATB chorus is different from the one normally associated with this carol. However it is still set to Christina Rossetti's haunting poem which depicts the pictoral and human attributes of the Incarnation. The imagery of winter follows the example of Milton’s On the Morning of Christ’s Nativity. It also follows the tradition used by Milton that at Christ’s birth the earth was covered with pure white snow.
