This collection includes Strauss’s Blue Danube Mendelssohn’s On Wings of Song and Spring Song Wagner’s O Star of Eve and Delibes's Pas de Fleurs.The Kunz style favoured big many-layered chords in the right hand with a more rhythmic underpinning in the left. For instance the Kunz arrangement of Strauss’s Blue Danube transforms a gently-unfolding Orchestral piece into a series of four-note chords which Kunz himself was able to play with grace and finesse. The arrangements tend to end with the thrill of a rallentando and chord in the upper registers.Pianist Charlie Kunz enjoyed a twenty-year career as a solo pianist touring throughout Britain and appearing on televisionand radio. He had originally emigrated to the UK after World War I to work in a dance band but his distinctive and winning style soon led to a solo career performing his own versions of classical favourites.

Volume contains standard works of the repertoire, and also works of composers rarely encountered within other collections. There are works from the baroque through the modern periods, and each piece is in its original form. / Piano Accompagnement
