This collection presents traditional Cajun tunes for fiddle in a simplified manner. The songs all include basic staff notation in the keys of A D and G which are the simplest keys for a beginning student. Each piece hasfinger notation undereach note enabling the new violinist to play confidently. Quarter notes and half notes are the primary notes used with a few eighth notes added in the last few pages.The accompanying CD presents eachsong in the book with an accompaniment that resembles the sounds of a Cajun band. The lively accompaniments will help the student with melody and rhythm as well as give the musician the confidence that comes from playing with aband. The tunes are performed at a slower rate for practice and at a faster rate for performance.
