Let all the world in every corner sing was commissioned by the 2012 Royal School of Church Music Canterbury Area Cathedral Festival to mark 150 years since the first such event in Canterbury Cathedral, 1862. For King And Country is part of a larger work entitled 'The Angel Of Mons' by composer Patrick Hawes dedicated to the memory of the British soldiers who Hawes believes witnessed an 'angel' during a battle in World War One. This is the Vocal Score arranged for SATB Chorus and Piano Accompaniment. This piece with a libretto by his brother Andrew Hawes was premiered in the latter's own church on the centenary of the date the 'angel' sighting was said to have occurred.  The inspiration comes from a mythical story around the Battle of Mons during World War One where a group ofsoldiers supposedly received divine help from 'angels'. The story arose from a fictional short story by a writer that came to be known as fact despite the author's desperate please otherwise. The music itself is beautiful perfectly capturing the crisis of conscience and cognitive dissonance that the soldiers must have experienced being told that they were fighting for King and country yet at the same time being terrified of their own lives.

Described by the composer as 'a prayer for sanity a cry in the wilderness to a god who may or may not be there' this unconventional Mass (with new words) is written in the context of a world where millions of people die of hunger every year where 10% of living species are under threat of extinction. Henryk Miko aj Górecki (1933-2010) was a Polish composer who at one point was the most popular living classical composer anywhere in the world. His 1972 work Euntes Ibant Et Flebant (Op. 32) is oneof more than 70 acknowledged compositions and his first religious work for a capella choir. Using text from Psalms 94 and 125 he creates a layered texture giving rise to an incredible spatial sound effect as if the prayers andsounds of a hymn-singing choir are rising and mixing together into the upper eaves of a great cathedral. First performed in 1975 by the National Philharmonic Choir of Warsaw this SATB chorus is an absolute gem that deserves to bebetter-known.

For SATB chorus and Organ from The Veil Of The Temple.The Veil of the Temple was commissioned by the Temple Music Trust. The world premiere took place on 27th June 2003 at the Temple Church London performed bythe Choir of the Temple Church and the Holst Singers with Patricia Rozario (soprano) conducted by Stephen Layton as part of The City of London Festival 2003.The anthem What God is we do not know was sponsored by PumpCourt Tax Chambers. It was first performed on 1st July 2004 by the Choir of the Temple Church with James Vivian (organ) conducted by Stephen Layton.

Spiral Mass is a work by Nico Muhly composed in 2014 commissioned by Holland Festival and BBC Radio 3. The work is arranged for SATB Chorus and Organ Accompaniment and lasts around 15 minutes. Spiral Mass received its world premiere on 2nd June 2014 during the Holland Festival by the Nederlands Kamerkoor conducted by Risto Joost featuring James McVinnie on Organ.  According to Muhly this compositions is an attempt to set the text of the Latin Mass using a completely different harmonic structure from his previous works. The rhythms and melodiescan be seen as circular rather than linear becoming evident from both the Organ parts and the choirs initial phrases. As the piece progresses the dynamic tempo enhances the interplay of all parts all the while hinting at Stravinskian inspirations.
