Eight Baroque sonatas are included apart from the famous D minor one by Corelli there are some that are appearing in a modern edition for the first time in 300 years. Arabeske, de Robert Schumann est une oeuvre écrite en forme de Rondo: trois refrains A, deux couplets ou trios B-C et une coda D, au total six épisodes dans l'ordre suivant: A-B-A-C-A-D. Le refrain 'Leicht und Zart' (Léger et Tendre) définit le caractère aimable, souriant et détendu de ce premier élément. Le 1er couplet en Mi mineur, écrit dans le style du quatuor à cordes, se termine par une transition (douze mesures) pleine de subtilité harmonique. C'est Schumann/Eusebius, le poète parle. Une redite du refrain nous amène au deuxième couplet en La mineur, qui rappelle le début du refrain. Ce sont des interrogations successives entrecoupées de rythmes énergiques de marches. Le refrain apparaît pour la 3ème et dernière fois.
