This edition is based on the sole surviving source long considered a copy in Copenhagen’s Royal Library which has since been ascertainably identified as an autograph manuscript.

The Fantasie in C major Op. 15 popularly known as the Wanderer Fantasy is a four-movement fantasy for solo Piano composed by Franz Schubert?in 1822. The whole work is based on one single basic motive from the lied ?The Wanderer? and the four movements are played without a break.?It is widely considered to be?Schubert's most technically demanding composition for the Piano. Schubert?himself said 'the devil may play it ' in reference to his own inability to do so properly. This fantastic volume contains a unified set of three Fantasy Pieces that make up Robert Schumann’s Opus 73. Completed in 1849 he linked each piece harmonically but compounded this by directing players to follow on to the next with performance notes: indicating that these were intended as a whole.From a mood of delicate expression through eloquent and lively to fiery and urgent this is a compelling and intriguing work. Perhaps it isn’t the finest composition by this talented writer but it is infused with more than enough Romanticism and thoughtfulness to make it an important and entertaining work.This version has beenskillfully arranged for Clarinet in A (or B Flat) with Piano Accompaniment by H. 30 Transcriptions. Par SCHUMANN ROBERT. The edition Schumann for Guitar is an interesting attempt to transfer Robert Schumann's romantic, lyrical music to the guitar. As a consequence, new tonal possibilities present themselves for the guitar repertoire, particularly in view of the fact that Schumann himself never composed an original piece for guitar. This volume naturally contains pieces from the famous piano cycles Album für die Jugend, Kinderszenen and Albumblätter, but also some lieder like Mondnacht or Im wunderschönen Monat Mai. Special highlights of the volume are the original Schumann transcriptions by Francisco Tárrega (1852-1909) which prove that guitarists studied Schumann's music as early as the 19th century. clarinet part in B flat-Along with Robert Schumann?s identically titled op. 73 the Fantasiestücke of 1864 by the Danish composer Niels Wilhelm Gade are an essential part of the repertoire of all clarinettists. Gade lived in Leipzig for a long time andhad been among Schumann?s close friends. With this deeply romantic composition he made an important contribution to establishing the clarinet as a chamber-music soloist. The four pieces in this collection can of course beperformed separately and are ideal teaching material. Our editor the clarinettist Nicolai Pfeffer has drawn upon the German and Danish first editions and the autograph in Copenhagen as sources and consequently has been able toeliminate several discrepancies found in older editions.
