Medley of hymn tunes Lots of special techniques enhance the flavor and add challenge for your ringers. How Firm A Foundation/Simple Gifts Medley employs both hymn tunes, skillfully interwoven throughout in this highly orchestral, multi-textural arrangement. It is scored for 3-7 octaves of handbells with OPTIONAL 3-4 octaves of handchimes, plus optional 3-4 octaves of handchimes, plus optional 2-3 octaves of Petit & Fritsen or Silver Melody Bells. An orchestral bell (tubular) part is added which can substitute for the alternate bells if they are not available. This setting also sports a bell tree (Simple Gifts) in the upper 5th octave. A glockenspiel part is provided especially for 3 and 4 octave choirs, which duplicates the bell tree part.

This is a useful piece for three equal voices that can be sung unison or in two parts-and will work with SAB voices if the middle voice is given to the men (an octave lower, of course). The two texts provide morning and evening hymns. The former is useful anytime as a hymn of praise. Unison, two part or three part voices 2 or 3 octaves Handbells or Handchimes .
