Adventus, meaning arrival or debut and celebratory in nature, was written to showcase the playing achievements of students. After a bold fanfare statement, the main theme is developed (first playfully, then with more grandeur). A contrasting moment of calm transitions to the exciting return of the opening theme, followed by triumphant closing material. Written squarely for Grade 1 players but with an attractive, mature sound that belies its level, Adventus, by Scott Watson, would make the perfect concert opener or closer. The soulful singing style of Moyet and the electronic, innovative pop that Clarke made melded well together in the group Yazoo with hits such as Only You and Don’t Go. However, after a number of years Moyet went her own way and forged a solo career, during which she demonstrated a somewhat more traditional sound. She recorded several covers (such as The First Time I Ever Saw Your Face and That Ole Devil Called Love) but she also wrotefine songs herself, such as Love Resurrection and, of course, the expressive song AllCried Out. This arrangement by Peter Kleine Schaars does justice to the atmosphere of the original song. Nach ein paar Jahren ging die Sängerin mit der starken Soulstimme jedoch eigene Wege und arbeitete an einer Solo-Karriere. It is a spectacular piece from the pen of CarlosCárdenas, who belongs to a new generation of composing talent. The clave, a rhythmic pattern, which originally comes from African music, was the inspiration for this innovative piece, all motifs and structures being derived from it. La pièce est basée sur un motif rythmique clave, qui est originaire de la musique africaine. Cette cellule rythmique a grandement influencé la musique latino-américaine et est encore de nos jours un élément important dans la structurede la musique afro-cubaine. Source intarissable d’inspiration, tous les motifs et les structures rythmiques de ce morceau en sont des dérivés. Or genes se compose de six parties : une introduction, quatre parties principales et une conclusionqui résume brillement les divers éléments de la pièce.
