The CD-ROM of RISM series A/I: Individual Prints before 1800 makes available the world's largest source collection of printed musical works for the first time in electronic form. The CD-ROM offers scholars, musicians, librarians and music antiquarians - in short, all people and institutions that work with musicalsources - significant assistance for researching historical musical prints. For the CD-ROM, the contents of the nine main volumes have been converted into a database and expanded with new entries from the supplementary volumes. Composer names, library sigla and catalogues of works have been matched with the standard versions used in series A/II: Music Manuscripts after 1600, brought up-to-date and linked with the corresponding authority files. The contents of these authority files, with many cross-references, precise citations and library adresses, often with a link to their website, are now available to users. In addition, keywords relating to genre and, where possible, instrumentation, have been included. In total, the database contains over 100,000 entries. The advantage of the CD-ROM lies in its ability to search all titles using terms in a full text search and separate indices. The search functions are far superior to what is traditionally available in a book index. Answers can be found to questions such asWhich operas were published in London between 1711-1759?andWhich single prints by Joseph Haydn were published by Artaria?- All entries are displayed in full text and are oriented in structure to thetitles in the printed volumes.- Transferring text to a separate document is possible.- Display on a standard browserSystem requirements: Intel Pentium 4 2 GHz or AMD Athlon XP 1800+processor or faster; 512 MB-1 GB RAM (depending on the operating system); CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive; Windows 2000 with Service Pack 4, Windows XP with Service Pack 1 or later, Windows Vista or Windows 7 operating system; Firefox 3.0 or Internet Explorer 6.0 or higherInstallation:Installation will begin automatically or can be activated by clicking on the file SETUP.EXE on the CD/DVD-ROM drive.

ISBN 9790006495702. 33.1 x 26 cm inches. Nicola Francesco Haym.
Handel began the composition of Tamerlano, one of the supreme masterpieces of Baroque opera seria, on 3rd July 1724. The libretto was an adaptation by Nicola Haym of Agostino Piovene's Tamerlano, Tragedia per musica, which had been set to music by Francesco Gasparini, and performed in Venice in 1711. When Handel dated the last page of the autograph on 4rd July the work appeared to be complete; but during the three months which passed before the premiere at the King's Theatre in the Haymarket on 31 October, so many alterations and revisions were made that a fresh performing-score had to be writtern very late in the proceedings, to replace an earlier one which is now 1ost.There were twelve performances between 31 October 1724 and 8 May 1725. Handel revived the opera only once, in 1731, for three performances. For this revival he marked in the performing score a number of cuts in the recitatives, which are reproduced in the present edition; there is more recitative in Tamerlano than in any other Handel opera.

Main source of the present editions is the manuscript by Manuel M. Ponce, kept in the Manuel M. Ponce Archive, located in the Cuicamatini library of the Facultad de Música de la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. The preludes were composed around 1929 after the invitation of Segovia who, urged by the publishers to write a method, asked Ponce to compose some short pieces to include in this didactic project. In April 1930 Segovia published only 12 preludes with Schott publishing house. Many of Ponceâ??s manuscripts remained unknown for a long time, until 1977, when the Mexican guitarist and musicologist Miguel Alcázar, thanks to the collaboration of Carlos Vázquez, pupil and heir of Manuel Ponceâ??s manuscripts, began an important recovery of Ponceâ??s guitar music by preparing the first complete edition of the preludes.

‘With distinguish’d glory shine, to add a lustre to this day’. In 1713 Handel set this joyful text, an Ode to Queen Anne, to one of his most exquisite melodies. A tender work of extraordinary grace, ‘Eternal Source of Light Divine’ is music befitting a royal celebration and was memorably sung at the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. This new edition for voice and piano with optional trumpet part (in B-flat and C) contains three keys (high, medium and low voice).
