Rhapsody for Alto Saxophone and Orchestra-Debussy’s Rhapsody was commissioned by the wealthy amateur Elise Hall who paid the composer a considerable sum in advance. Yet work on it was not easy; following his death all that existed was a finished orchestral sketch ashort score. Debussy’s friend Jean Roger-Ducasse undertook versions for piano and orchestra based on the sole authentic source. Ever since its first performance in Paris in 1919 both of these versions of the work have formed partof the saxophone's core repertoire. Our study score contains the first transcription of the autograph in printed form. It is a valuable addition to our Urtext edition for practical music making (HN989).

The drum rudiments are the language of drummers. They are to us what scales and chords are to the other instruments. Understanding the rudiments allows the drummer to communicate with other drummers and also have the ability tointerpret terminology and rhythms that are so often seen in music and music publications. This book is designed for drummers of all levels who would like knowledge of the snare drum rudiments but haven’t had the advantage ofstudying them formally. It is a quick simple approach that can be learned by any drummer who can do single strokes and double strokes [strokes using the stick rebound]. While this method is not meant to be a substitute for thetraditional way of learning the drum rudiments which I totally recommend one of the advantages of it is that it is a fast easy alternate method that will give an understanding of the how the rudiments are played and shouldsound. If nothing else this book will improve the drummer’s overall technique and playing. After studying the approach described it will be an easy transition to take the study of the rudiments further learning to play themin the traditional way and apply them to the drumset.

Edited by Robert King and published by Alphonse Leduc 70 Studies for BB flat Tuba – Volume 2 by Vladislav Blazhevich contains the first 28 studies out of 70. These studies do not correspond to a method for Tuba and it is generally understood that 70 studies are actually inspired from another piece of work from Blazhevich: 'Clef Studies for Trombone' even though 13 of these 70 studies did not appear in it. They were not transposed for Tuba but adapted for this instrument. These studies have become part of the basic teaching methods and these books are some of the most-mentioned studybooks for Tuba which are very popular. While they help to develop the Tuba techniques they can be used by different age ranges and different skill ranges. Vladislav Blazhevich (1881-1942) is a Russian Tuba player conductor and professor. He was also an amazing composer who created many methods for Wind instruments as well as concerti studies and musical pieces. Robert King (1914-1999) was an American editor who specialised in Brass composition. He created the 'Brass Player’s Guide' in the 1950s and developed strong relationship with Alphonse Leduc Éditions.
