GIA’s generous support and ongoing dedication to wind music has made it possible for the ensemble to continue producing recordings of the highest quality that are a testament to the perseverance and work ethic of everyone involved. While the first 34 releases in the series, initiated in 1989, remain with the Klavier label, this broadened alliance with GIA affords the opportunity to consolidate all of the current projects under one publishing roof. The diverse set of offerings consists of WindWorks (which includes the CD and DVD series), the Composer’s Collection, and the Teaching Music through Performance in Band resource recordings. Partnering in this way creates exciting possibilities that allow the imaginative output to stay focused on the ongoing mission: to provide first-class recordings that accentuate the comprehensiveness, depth, and value of the wind symphony medium and its music.  .

In this work I gave everything I had to give. [...] What I did here I will never do again.Camille Saint-Saens was justifiably proud of his Symphony No. 3 in C minor op. 78, dedicated to the memory of Franz Liszt. Like Beethoven's Ninth, this so-called Organ Symphony was commissioned by the Philharmonic Society in London, where it received its premiere on 19 May 1886.In this first scholarly-critical edition of the symphony, a great many inconsistencies and mistakes inherent in the previously used edition have been unveiled and corrected. The edition of Symphony No. 3 marks the launch of a large-scale project: the publication of Camille Saint-Saens - Complete Edition of the Instrumental Works. This performing Urtext edition is based on volume BA 10303 from that series.* First scholarly-critical edition of this famous symphony based on Camille Saint-Saens aEUR Complete Edition of the Instrumental Works* Now with separate parts for all winds* Orchestral parts in a large format (25.5 cm x 32.5 cm).

Three movements, 15:00 total. South Florida Classical Review called Setting Century ...ingeniously crafted. The score is an imaginative essay in orchestral rhythm and color. The initial section Ticking is based on a brief, repeated figure in the violins, like the machinery of a clock. Gradually larger melodic threads emerge. The piano imitates bells over long string lines in Tolling. As the winds and strings branch out to broader, more complex patterns, the overall effect is powerful. Dance-like themes give the entire orchestra a good workout in Streaming. An extended episode for winds exploits the individual instruments’ timbres in striking fashion. ~ Lawrence Budmen. 2(1) 22 2(1); 4231; timp, 2 perc, pno; stgs Duration: 15' Composed: 2004/16 Published by: Distributed Composer Performance materials available on rental only:.

Christmas at the Symphony, arranged by Michael Story, is a medley of three classical holiday tunes. Although it is scored for full orchestra, this arrangement is playable by string orchestra alone or with any number of added winds or percussion. Mozart's Sleigh Ride German Dance No. 3, Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker, and Bizet's March of the Kings are all included in this fantastic arrangement. (3:15).
