Editio Musica Budapest is launching a new series entitled Musica da camera. As its very general title indicates, the publishers' intention is that the volumes in this series, which is designed specifically for music school students, will include works composed for chamber ensembles of every kind, from the trio to the sextet. The first two volumes contain mostly transcriptions for three and four flutes respectively, selected from every period of music history from the late Renaissance to the present day. This publication is printed on high-quality, age-resistant paper that is produced in an environmentally-friendly, climate-neutral manner using renewable raw materials.

Miklós Kocsár wrote this work in 1993, it was commissioned by the artists Bea Berényi and her husband Ákos Dratsay. It was given its premi?re at the end of that year at a concert of works by the composer. As the title indicates, the composer?s intention was to display the tone and colour potential of the two flutes. The overall form of the work is provided by the sequence of eight sharply contrasting movements of differing length. It is characterized by thematic correspondences, variations, formal arcs that gradually reach completion, different styles of playing, alternating slow and fast musical materials, free and fixed rhythms, as well as cantabile and virtuosic sections.

â??Summer days in the mountain by Eugène Bozza (1905-1991) is a famous Flute Quartet, published in 1955. Technically and musically challenging, this piece was written for advanced flautists. Summer days in the mountain was composed in four movements: 1. Pastorale, 2. Au bord du torrent, 3. Le Chant des fôrets, 4. Ronde. These four movements are all well-crafted to captivate the attention of the flautists (with their technicality, tempo and musicality) but also those of the audience. Eugène Bozza won different prizes at the Conservatoire de Paris such as the First Prizes for the Violin, conducting and composition, as well as the Grand Prix de Rome. He composed several operas, chamber works and ballets, among others.â?.
