The march Raid on the Medway was commissioned by Lieutenant Colonel RNLMC G T J Aben and dedicated to the Marine Band of the Royal Netherlands Navy, Major Peter Kleine Schaars, conductor. Lieutenant Colonel Aben is commander of the Marinebarracks in Rotterdam, the Van Ghent Kazerne, home of the Marine Band.
Raid on the Medway is in standard march form and the traditional trio is followed by a feature for the Marine Band’s famous Drums and Fifes.De mars Raid on the Medway is geschreven in opdracht van luitenant-kolonel der mariniers G.T.J. Aben en opgedragen aan de Marinierskapel der Koninklijke Marine en haar dirigent, majoor Peter Kleine Schaars. Luitenant-kolonel Aben was totnovember 2013 commandant van de Van Ghent Kazerne in Rotterdam, de thuisbasis van de Marinierskapel.
Raid on the Medwayy is geschreven in de vorm van een standaardmars. Het traditionele trio wordt gevolgd door een speciaal gedeelte voor de beroemde Tamboers en Pijpers van het Korps Mariniers.Der Marsch Raid on the Medway wurde von Oberstleutnant RNLMC G. T. J. Aben in Auftrag gegeben. Er ist dem Marineblasorchester der Königlich Niederländischen Marine und dessen Dirigenten Peter Kleine Schaars gewidmet. Oberstleutnant Aben istder Kommandant der Marinekasernen in Rotterdam, der Van-Ghent-Kaserne, die zugleich Standort des Marineblasorchesters ist.
Raid on the Medway (Angriff am Medway) ist in einer Standard-Marschfom geschrieben. Dem traditionellen Trio folgt ein Solo der berühmten Pfeiffer und Trommler des Marineblasorchesters.Composée la demande du lieutenant-colonel G.T.J.
