For Viola and Piano-Leopold J. Beer (1865-1956) was a composer arranger and editor who is best known for his many pedagogical publications including the highly successful Leipzig range of Piano music. His Concertino in E Minor (Op. 47) is scored for Viola and Piano. It is the earlier of his two compositions in the Easy Concertos and Concertinos series.

Bach would almost certainly have approved of this string quartet arrangement of his famous concerto for violin and oboe (BWV 1060) by John Cooley as he was well known for making arrangements of his own works, according to instrumental resources at his disposal. Bach himself made an arrangement of this piece for two solo harpsichords and string orchestra. It is quite ?notey? but straightforward and accessible technically to reasonably good players as there are no tricky rhythms or high notes. Although none of the music was published during his lifetime much of his instrumental music was later published and is still frequently performed today. The only known composition of his for lute is this Concerto in D Minor in three movements: Allegro moderato Andante and Un poco allegro. This edition includes the full orchestral score orchestral parts as well as guitar and lute parts. Victor Van Puijenbroeck has adapted the original solo part and included in the set are parts for both lute (the part has been adapted from lutetablature to modern notation) and guitar (capotasto).
