Then comes John Fethy's O God Abufe played straight, and finally an anonymous motet, All Sons of Adam, again infiltrated by a modern voice.

These free-style compositions were received with great appreciation by his contemporaries; the first volume, published in 1748, immediately achieved canonical status and encouraged other composers to write similar collections. The pieces, of easy to medium difficulty, are for manuals (alternatively, they can also be played on the harpsichord) and comprise two movements, slow and fast, many of which are characterized by a certain rhythmic energy and richness of color, expressed through the use of solo registers such as cornet and trumpet, with multiple echo effects, here adapted and transformed into piano, forte, and playing near the sound board effect, limiting, or rather modifying, their results.

Jeremiah Clarke's Trumpet Voluntary or Prince of Denmark's March sparkles all the way from beginning to end. Mr. Dunn has done a great job with this arrangement for Brass Trio of Trumpet, Horn and Trombone. The work was incorrectly attributed to Purcell for many years. This music is very popular as a wedding processional (performed at the wedding of Prince Charles and Diana) and was broadcast by the BBC extensively during WW II during the occupation of Denmark. The work is under three minutes in length. Parts are supplied for C and D trumpet, Horn and Trombone/Euphonium. Easily within range of intermediate/advanced performers.
