The works of Viktor Kosenko (1896-1938) - highly regarded in his lifetime as concertmaster, pianist, educator, and composer - became known to the arranger through his Russian-American wife, Alina, a teacher of young violinists and pianists. She owned an old out-of-print anthology of works by both Soviet composers and other world-renowned composers entitled The Young Violinist. Inspired by these lovely melodies, Debbaut compiled and arranged a collection of music exclusively by Soviet composers entitled The Young Soviet Violinist as well as published collections of all four of Kosenko's Four Children's Pieces, arranged for violin and piano, flute and piano, viola and piano, and cello and piano. Four Children's Pieces for piano (1930) were the first works the educational pioneer Kosenko wrote with young pianists in mind based on his own personal deep knowledge of the main objectives of a teacher. Arranged here for string orchestra, this charming suite features four delightful movements: I. Scherzino, II. Melody, III. Olden Dance, and IV. March. Each contrasting theme can be performed alone or as a full performance of all four movements. The works of Viktor Kosenko (1896-1938) - highly regarded in his lifetime as concertmaster, pianist, educator, and composer - became known to the arranger through his Russian-American wife, Alina, a teacher of young violinists and pianists. Written in 1912, the Fantasia on Christmas Carols was originally scored for baritone solo, chorus, and orchestra. In it, Ralph Vaughan Williams used three folk carols from his native country of England: The Truth Sent from Above, Come all you Worthy Gentlemen, and the Sussex Carol. Though shortened for time, this arrangement contains moments from each carol, including the solo cello opening. Though the melodies are mostly of unknown origin, the harmonies are uniquely the work of Vaughan Williams. This medley offers a unique alternative to traditional holiday programming, combining beautiful English carols with the skill of a world-renowned composer.

The newspaper Suddeutsche Zeitung once described the jazz pianist and arranger Peter Wegele (*1967) as 'most creative pianist in the Munich area'. Trained at the music academy of Graz, his career has led him to concert stages all over the world where he works with renowned jazz musicians. With his Suite populaire for flute (oboe or clarinet) and piano, he wants to unite the different spheres of classical, pop and world music. The result is a charming suite with five miniatures which is characterized by capricious rhythms, exotic melodies, delightful sounds and evocative contrasts and which swings all the time. Catchy and inspired music which is worth playing - and listening to.

This cello sonata by the renowned jazz pianist and professor of jazz piano unites in a certain way “the best of two worldsâ€: melodies, sophisticated harmonies and rousing rhythms, which are also convincing in a pure jazz context, are fused here with a formal language and movement techniques that are oriented towards classical models. The voices of both instruments are interwoven on an equal footing and take the listener on an exciting musical journey from the very first moment, which finds its virtuoso climax in the lively rondo via a classical sonata main movement and a quiet middle movement.
